This 72" wide bar provides everything needed for a wine tasting. Glass door cabinets with a contrasting interior highlight the collection of wine glasses. The wine refrigerator holds enough bottles so frequent trips to the wine cellar are not needed. A raised panel wainscot back splash adds an sense of elegance where tile is typically found. Honorable Mention - DesignRail® in silver with 150 top rail and CableRail infill, installed by the homeowner. "it took a lot of planning to get the post spacing exact." The railing was part of a 6-month remodel of the upstairs area, and posts had to be planned and installed early on. Says the homeowner, "the stairwell was not your typical stairwell, it was situated in the middle of the room and the room was a bit nautical and a bit modern with a touch of mid-century design. When we found your product (we used it on an outside deck a few years prior) I told my husband that this was the perfect product that would allow a view of the ocean in the windows and not obstruct the view, as well as be a beautiful addition itself."

Flavin Architects was chosen for the renovation due to their expertise with Mid-Century-Modern and specifically Henry Hoover renovations. Respect for the integrity of the original home while accommodating a modern family’s needs is key. Stair treads are illuminated with DekDot™ stair lights by DEKOR® This outdoor LED recessed stair light kit allows exterior steps and stairs to be illuminated for both safety and ambiance. Perfect for decks, docks, patios, and embedding in concrete walkways or steps. The lights have a 30° light angle and become directional simply by turning the housing. This small third bedroom in a 1950's North Vancouver home originally housed our growing interior design business. When we outgrew this 80 square foot space and moved to a studio across the street, I wondered what would become of this room with its lovely ocean view. As it turns out it evolved into a shared creative space for myself and my very artistic 7 year old daughter. In the spirit of Virginia Wolfe's "A Room of One's Own" this is a creative space where we are surrounded by some of our favourite things including vintage collectibles & furniture, artwork and craft projects, not to mention my all time favourite Cole and Son wallpaper.
