Project Description: Warm Modern Kitchen + Bath Refresh
This kitchen remodel blends warm, rich materials with durable, modern functionality. We elevated the space with custom cherry wood cabinetry, bringing timeless elegance and a sense of craftsmanship to the heart of the home. The countertops and full-height backsplash feature Mystere Gold Quartz from ARC Surfaces—a creamy, ivory-toned quartz with subtle gold veining. This material is not only visually striking but also non-porous, stain-resistant, and low maintenance—ideal for everyday use.
Fixtures include a Kohler Vibrant Stainless kitchen faucet, Kohler undermount single-bowl sink, and flat black cabinet hardware, all sourced through Solutions Bath & Flooring in collaboration with KellyJo. The hardwood flooring throughout was carefully sanded, refinished, and stained using a custom mix from DuraSeal, adding depth and warmth to every step.
For the bathroom, we kept the updates minimal yet impactful: we installed a new vanity top using the same quartz, Moen Doux brushed nickel faucets, and Kohler Caxton undermount sinks—all also sourced through Solutions Bath & Flooring. The continuity in materials ties the spaces together and maintains a clean, cohesive aesthetic.

Interior designer Michael Del Piero’s 2000 sft 3-bedroom condo is located in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast. Her design aesthetic is minimal with a modern approach incorporating clean-lined furnishing fused with her personal collections of ethnic and handmade artifacts and textiles from across the globe. The design is “spare not bare” peppered with objects found on her travels. The palette combines Michael’s signature of mixing warm and cool tones. Window treatments throughout the home are burlap.

Nestled in the serene hills of Beverly Hills, this 5,900 sqft private residence designed by HENNE CREATIVE is a masterclass in minimal luxury. The architectural language merges sharp lines with warm materiality, creating an atmosphere of effortless sophistication and calm.
The double height living room anchors the heart of the home, with expansive glazing that draws the surrounding landscape inward. A sculptural floating staircase connects both levels while embracing natural light, emphasizing verticality without overwhelming the space.
The palette is defined by warm walnut ceilings, crisp white walls, large format porcelain surfaces, and soft natural micro cement floors balancing visual warmth with a serene, almost gallery-like restraint. The bespoke modular sofa and low slung furniture pieces reinforce a grounded, architectural approach to interior design.
Soft curves in the lighting installation contrast the otherwise linear geometry, injecting fluidity and movement into the space. The fireplace wall, concealed storage solutions, and integrated lighting showcase HENNE CREATIVE's signature: form following function with quiet precision.
Throughout the home, circulation is framed by uninterrupted sightlines and natural transitions between public and private zones. Hidden gardens, clean detailing, and material honesty all combine to offer a deeply meditative living experience where every element has been considered for both aesthetic impact and spatial clarity.
This project reflects our studio’s belief that true luxury lies in restraint, clarity, and intentional living.

Before: The master bathroom was crowded, with a bulky outdated shower, minimal storage, and a shorter vanity which was inconvenient for them.
After: The transformation created a luxurious and spacious retreat:
Custom Shower: A new oversized shower was built, featuring a Signature Hardware Carmen 40" Linear Shower Drain in Matte Black. The shower floor was adorned with AZ Tile Pebble Mosaics in Ivory, enhancing both the look and feel of the space. AZ Tile Flash Ivory 3x12 tiles were chosen for the shower walls, creating a clean, bright environment.
Vanity Area: The vanity area was upgraded with Sollid Designer Series cabinets in Corona Onyx - Clear Alder, providing ample storage and a sleek look. The cabinets were paired with MSI Quartz countertops in Calacatta Delios for a cohesive design. Miseno Huntington matte black cabinet handles were chosen to complete the look.
Freestanding Bathtub: A freestanding bathtub was installed, complemented by Angela Harris Dunmore Savona 8x8 Green Polished tiles around the tub area. This setup offers a striking visual appeal and a perfect spot for relaxation.
The remodel was completed on time and within budget, exceeding Susan and Eric’s expectations. They were thrilled with their new kitchen, which now serves as the heart of their home, where they enjoy cooking and hosting friends.
The master bathroom became their personal spa, offering a peaceful escape at the end of a long day.

This project is a beautiful example of how selective upgrades and premium materials can completely transform the look and feel of a home while maintaining warmth, function, and personal style.

When the owner of this petite c. 1910 cottage in Riverside, RI first considered purchasing it, he fell for its charming front façade and the stunning rear water views. But it needed work. The weather-worn, water-facing back of the house was in dire need of attention. The first-floor kitchen/living/dining areas were cramped. There was no first-floor bathroom, and the second-floor bathroom was a fright. Most surprisingly, there was no rear-facing deck off the kitchen or living areas to allow for outdoor living along the Providence River.
In collaboration with the homeowner, KHS proposed a number of renovations and additions. The first priority was a new cantilevered rear deck off an expanded kitchen/dining area and reconstructed sunroom, which was brought up to the main floor level. The cantilever of the deck prevents the need for awkwardly tall supporting posts that could potentially be undermined by a future storm event or rising sea level.
To gain more first-floor living space, KHS also proposed capturing the corner of the wrapping front porch as interior kitchen space in order to create a more generous open kitchen/dining/living area, while having minimal impact on how the cottage appears from the curb. Underutilized space in the existing mudroom was also reconfigured to contain a modest full bath and laundry closet. Upstairs, a new full bath was created in an addition between existing bedrooms. It can be accessed from both the master bedroom and the stair hall. Additional closets were added, too.
New windows and doors, new heart pine flooring stained to resemble the patina of old pine flooring that remained upstairs, new tile and countertops, new cabinetry, new plumbing and lighting fixtures, as well as a new color palette complete the updated look. Upgraded insulation in areas exposed during the construction and augmented HVAC systems also greatly improved indoor comfort. Today, the cottage continues to charm while also accommodating modern amenities and features.

A clean and understated entry that leads directly into the heart of this contemporary home. Wide-plank oak floors, exposed wood beams, and curated minimal décor keep the space warm, modern, and inviting. This hallway sets the tone — organic materials, simplified styling, and intentional flow.

Welcome to this breathtaking fully custom two tone transitional kitchen, where elegance and functionality blend seamlessly to create the heart of your dream home.
Upon entering the space, you'll be instantly drawn to the striking white cabinets that adorn the perimeter of the kitchen. These beautifully crafted cabinets offer ample storage and are paired with sleek, white quartz countertops for a clean and sophisticated look. The large island, complete with additional storage and seating, serves as the focal point of the room, perfect for casual dining and entertaining guests.
The open concept design effortlessly connects the kitchen with the adjoining living and dining areas, fostering a sense of unity and flow throughout the space. The vaulted ceiling adds a sense of grandeur, while the skylight above floods the room with warm, natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.
Your eyes will be drawn to the stunning dark hexagonal backsplash tile, which provides a captivating contrast against the crisp white cabinetry. This bold design element not only adds visual interest but also ties the transitional style together with a modern twist.
High-end stainless steel appliances and well-placed fixtures ensure that this kitchen is as functional as it is stylish. The open shelves and glass-front cabinets provide the perfect opportunity to showcase your favorite dishware and decorative items.

Transforming the blank canvas of a basic builder’s backyard into a captivating retreat, we turned a grass-dominated space into an effortlessly elegant low-maintenance haven with a distinct Asian flair. At the heart of this metamorphosis is the expanded patio and walkway, featuring offset architectural pavers that not only captivate the eye but also contribute to a dynamic sense of flow throughout the elongated backyard.
A key focal point is the thoughtfully designed rain garden, adorned with strategically placed boulders that manages stormwater runoff in an aesthetically pleasing way.
The carefully curated plant palette plays a pivotal role in achieving the desired aesthetic. The deliberate choice of low grasses and foliage-forward perennials, coupled with the inclusion of small evergreen plants and vibrant Japanese maples, creates a harmonious blend of colors, shapes, and sizes. This contrasting arrangement not only ensures visual interest year-round but also infuses the space with a timeless allure inspired by Asian design principles.
The result is a backyard oasis that transcends the ordinary, offering a serene escape with minimal upkeep requirements. The strategic combination of hardscape elements, lush greenery, and carefully selected plants transforms this space into a sanctuary where the beauty of nature meets the sophistication of thoughtful design.

This is truly a magazine cover worthy Master Bathroom.
The home is pre-civil war and this space was originally a spare bedroom that we converted into a master bathroom.
The flooring was originally heart pine which is so rare we carefully removed it to re-use it in another pat of the home.
Customer wanted a modern bathroom that still had a lot of the charm of the original style of the home. Back in the day a bathroom like this would have been all marble, we chose to go with a marble looking porcelain tile so that the maintenance is minimal. We tiled the entire floor in a herringbone pattern and did a vertical staggered stack on the walls using all 12x24 large format tile.
The vanities are a sleek modern European style with a traditional sit down vanity for the lady of the house. The countertops are Quartz.
We custom made the shower with a wall niche and built in seat with a custom made shower door and half wall panel.
Attention to detail in everything including the brass light fixtures and brass mirrors.
This is a work of art that incorporated modern with a time long gone all the while making it a low maintenance bathroom that never go out of style.

Extending and seamlessly incorporating the existing living space was at the heart of this renovation commissioned in 2019. With a new arrival on the way the downstairs needed to be versatile - in principal an open plan space with an option to be ‘zoned.' An Artful Life studio handled the required planning permissions for the considered reconfiguration of the space starting with a simple modern flat boxed extension downstairs. Floor to ceiling glass doors give great connection to the outside, whilst oversized skylights and full picture windows allow the entire space to savour morning and evening sunlight. A much coveted Scandi palette is tethered by the warm grey wooden floor that sweeps throughout, unifying the space. The soothing monochromatic calm palette is warmed by dramatic rich wood wood furniture that excites.
