Nursery wallpaper installation – Austin, TX – 78746 – Mid-Century Modern In this nursery located in Austin’s 78746 zip, we installed a custom-cut mural wallpaper featuring mid-century starbursts and pastel orbs. Safety came first: we used low-VOC, pre-pasted paper with water-based adhesive. Installed directly behind the crib, it gives the room a retro-fun character while staying soft and calming for baby naps.

Media rooms are moving away from the single-use home theater style to provide more cozy and inviting flex space for hanging out or entertaining. This luscious room is comprised of several designated spaces. Three TVs are in the space, but you could easily curl up in the down-filled sectional by Hickory Chair for an afternoon nap, or rock a baby to sleep in the rich leather swivel rocker from Hancock and Moore. A custom-made cocktail ottoman means everyone can prop their feet, but also provides ample room for a tray to hold snacks and beverages. This tranquil Seattle home sits high on a hill with a lovely view in the Queen Anne neighborhood. The delightful family of four needed help filling the living spaces with furnishings that would be cozy, comfortable and work beautifully with the classic aesthetic of the home. Together we choose swivel chairs to maximize both conversation and the view, a nap worthy sofa in a lovely shade of blue and a cocktail table that is easy to move when the kids need an open space but also serves as an excellent place to play games and build puzzles. A soft and colorful rug, bold patterned drapery and a splash of accessories and accent furnishings were layered in to complete the room. The powder room received a rich new paint color to highlight some beloved family artwork and a decorative ladder was installed to add visual interest and provide a much-needed storage place for hand towels. The entry was lacking storage which we remedied with custom designed and built shoe storage benches. An easy to care for indoor/outdoor rug was added to protect the floor and provide a layer of texture to the room. The new cozy space now serves in function when entering the home plus is a great curl up place to enjoy the view while reading a good book! With a focus on public spaces, we nearly all forget to prioritize our own personal space, which ends up being our bedrooms. For this project – a master bedroom, our client lovingly made it a priority, requesting that we help them feel great there. That should always be the goal of any space – period. But for a master bed, good design adds tenderness to that feeling. By opening up the space and brightening it with a beautiful color palette of grays, linens, whites and blues, this room now feels calm and well-tended to. A large upholstered king bed, keeps pace with the room’s proportions and provides comfort to any type of sleeper. Two pairs of large euro shams, allow for an endless array of comfortable positioning regardless of personal preference and a custom built in, keeps a television put away when not in use. Scaled to directionalize the room, the built in gathers favorite things and provides endless storage for blankets or extra clothing. I added a broad set of French doors, to ensure ready access to the outside deck, which sits stunningly on the lake. Now bright and in tune with the architecture, the inside outside connection is beautifully highlighted. Custom window panels and shade, give this room its personality and play to my strong sense of color and pattern mixing and a low chaise, gives a reader another cozy place for a nap. Ultimately personalized to reflect a happy and relaxed space, this master bedroom is ready to make anyone feel really at home.

Embracing the challenge of grounding this open, light-filled space, our Boulder studio focused on comfort, ease, and high design. The built-in lounge is flanked by storage cabinets for puzzles and games for this client who loves having people over. The high-back Living Divani sofa is paired with U-Turn Benson chairs and a "Rabari" rug from Nanimarquina for casual gatherings. The throw pillows are a perfect mix of Norwegian tapestry fabric and contemporary patterns. In the child's bedroom, we added an organically shaped Vitra Living Tower, which also provides a cozy reading niche. Bold Marimekko fabric colorfully complements more traditional detailing and creates a contrast between old and new. We loved collaborating with our client on an eclectic bedroom, where everything is collected and combined in a way that allows distinctive pieces to work together. A custom walnut bed supports the owner's tatami mattress. Vintage rugs ground the space and pair well with a vintage Scandinavian chair and dresser. Combining unexpected objects is one of our favorite ways to add liveliness and personality to a space. In the little guest bedroom, our client (a creative and passionate collector) was the inspiration behind an energetic and eclectic mix. Similarly, turning one of our client's favorite old sweaters into pillow covers and popping a Native American rug on the wall helped pull the space together. Slightly eclectic and invitingly cozy, the twin guestroom beckons for settling in to read, nap or daydream. A vintage poster from Omnibus Gallery in Aspen and an antique nightstand add period whimsy.

Toni has created a beautiful nook in her family's keeping room using a long window seat cushion made by Patio Lane. She chose Sunbrella Echo Ash fabric, a lovely neutral with texture, and opted for double welting for that extra touch. We are big fans of Toni's farmhouse style, and were happy to partner with her on this bench cushion for her new home. Nicely done! We call this the "quiet room." A place to simply lounge and look out at the lake, watch TV, work a little at the built-in desks, or maybe just take a nap on the very comfy sofa. Rustic framing on the mirrors and a cowhide rug certainly feel like Texas lake décor, but, soft blue and grey leathers studded with brass nail details make this room as current as can be.
