The client was focused on having a room that, while it embodied superb levels of performance, also convey elegant design. As an entertainment destination, the experience should begin at first glance. Upon opening the door an expectation would occur which would be delivered by the performance. In order to achieve this, the design team provided concept design methodology to develop and present architectural style which works with the performance engineering. Precise design documentation, details and construction support brought the dream to fruition.

We’ve heard many kinds of renovation horror stories, and this project might top all. Prior to Chapter, the clients had been working with a different contractor on their renovation. Unfortunately, just as they were nearing completion, an incident occurred during the floor refinishing process, where a flammable product was used, resulting in a devastating fire that damaged the entire apartment. The challenge for Chapter wasn’t just rebuilding a burnt-down apartment but also rebuilding the trust of our clients in people handling their renovation. However, over time, they have gradually regained confidence in our team in every stage of the renovation we successfully accomplished.

The electrical inspector would not budge on the need for receptacles along the window wall, so we integrated Wiremold brand plug strips into the window jambs (left side of photo). This occurs in 6 locations throughout the kitchen. We engineered the height of the cabinets and the new windows very carefully to get the exact reveal we wanted. Client review for this project copied from our review page: After interviewing 6 other general contractors I could not be happier to have had the opportunity to interview and work with Mike Smith of MJR Builders. From the minute he showed up at my house through the entire construction period I had 100% confidence in what Mike was doing. Even as change orders occurred throughout the process I was always given a great value for my money. I would go as far as to say not only did Mike meet expectations, he exceeded them. I would not hesitate to use Mike for any job in the future or refer him to any of my family or friends.

Inspired and driven by characteristics of Mother Nature, Novatto's absolute black granite vessels will add charm to your bath. Natural stone cannot be compared to everyday synthetic glass or ceramic sinks. Honed and hand polished to perfection, this square vessel will be your bath's centerpiece. Black granite is very consistent and little variation should occur from sink to sink. These sinks are designed for above-counter installation. They have a 1.75-inch drain opening for standard U.S. plumbing connections.
