Klopf Architecture's solution, to design a light filled atrium in the hallway to open up the bedroom expansion with green plants, sky lights and a glass wall. This family room was updated using a soft palette of greens, blues and lavender in all new furniture, rugs, lamps etc. It is super functional for a busy family. All of the fabrics and the rug are performance. The new modern light fixture is a perfect balance with the traditional style of the room.

An addition inspired by a picture of a butler's pantry. A place for storage, entertaining, and relaxing. Craftsman decorating inspired by the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite. The owners and I, with a bottle of red wine, drew out the final design of the pantry in pencil on the newly drywalled walls. The cabinet maker then came over for final measurements. This pool was constructed with boulders found on site. It is next to a large ledge outcrop and is heavily planted with flowering shrubs and perennials. It features a waterfall and a grotto with seats under the waterfall. The clients requested a pool that appeared to have occurred naturally in the forest and they just built their house next to it.

The trough collects overflow and moves towards a rock and metal channel within the rain garden, and toward the forests and escarpment. This linear view occurs at the large windows in the master suite, and was our response to a specific client request, that directs views from an expanse of windows to sunrises in the east. In south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio.
