When open, the homeowner can use the window as a serving area and converse with guests on the sun porch while she cooks. When she is ready to close the window, the homeowner can step out the adjacent door to give it a push from the outside or use ActivWall’s optional pull hook to close it from the inside.

The pass-thru we created created dramatic open views between the various rooms, making this home feel larger and more light-filled. The window viewed thru the opening is nearly 40 feet away from the island in the foreground.

This unique Old Hampshire Designs timber frame home has a rustic look with rough-cut beams and tongue and groove ceilings, and is finished with hard wood floors through out. The centerpiece fireplace is of all locally quarried granite, built by local master craftsmen. While looking online for pass-through windows, this homeowner found the Gas Strut Window by ActivWall. She reached out to find more information and worked with ActivWall’s engineering team to customize the perfect window for her space.
