A modern home that exudes warmth, gives our homeowners the comfort to ‘do’ life in their space. This professional couple with a young daughter wanted to make their newly-purchased house an expression of their contemporary style, filled with warmth and personality. They didn’t want mix-and-match big-box retailer style and they needed pieces that would hold up to their little one. That’s where Pulp comes in. Beth and Carolina created a design that pushed their style boundaries, taking them from sleek contemporary to warm and modern using pattern, textural elements, and color. Though initially hesitant, some of the items that were the biggest leap of faith (such as the lighting and drapery) have come to be the pieces they love the most. With customized cleanable and wipeable pieces, they and their young one can live life in their space without fear.

This interior is a curated celebration of artistic freedom and layered textures. It blends Art Deco elegance with bohemian warmth—creating a space that feels both refined and richly expressive. Each element contributes to a narrative that is soulful, slightly unconventional, and deeply inviting.
Intricate patterns meet luxurious surfaces: mirrored accents, matte metals, plush textiles, and layered rugs. The tactile contrast brings depth and personality, giving each corner a story of craftsmanship and layered design.
Zones transition softly—seating areas, reading nooks, and display shelves coexist without visual tension. Arched openings, sculptural furniture, and atmospheric lighting guide movement through the space naturally, with poetic intention.
Lighting is considered art—waning shadows, glowing highlights, and reflective surfaces breathe life into textures. The ambiance is calm but charged: moody yet intentional, theatrical without drama.
This is a home that feels lived-in by a creative spirit. It's not rigidly modern, but rather curated—and beautifully imperfect. It exudes warmth, curiosity, and a quiet confidence that invites reflection.

A family of three designed the ideal home to age in place and care for their adult son.
Designing a Unique Space
For years, the Bronks had a clear idea of what their master suite should look like. Their unique design even began appearing on HGTV shows, much to their amusement. The layout was essential to accommodating their schedules without disturbing each other's sleep.
The house is ingeniously split into two units. The main living area features three bedrooms—one serves as Dale's home office, another as his wife's art studio, and the third is their master suite. Connected by a wall, there's a separate 700-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment with its own laundry, kitchen, and living room.
This separate apartment is home to their unique needs adult son. "Having a place where he's connected to the family but has his own autonomous space was crucial," Dale explained. The design includes a discreet connecting door for emergencies, promoting his independence while ensuring safety.

We'd been in touch from a previous project, so I reached out. They were instrumental in bridging the gap between our ideas," Dale shared.
James from Reynard Custom Homes worked closely with the Bronks to refine their plans. "We had the apartment on one side and the master suite on the other. James helped us create a cohesive design that brought everything together beautifully."

Tierney and Conner enjoy expressing their clients' personalities through color. For this family, they chose the Solitaire pendant in Amber glass for its unique hue. With so many colors to choose from and so many potential uses, the Solitaire modern lighting collection is lovely on its own, as seen here hanging above the kitchen island. The honey-colored hue of our Amber glass complements the yellow rug in the living room, the bold orange front door, and the lush vegetation growing in the patio area. This typical late 20th Century home located in Fishers, IN had a somewhat open kitchen-living area.Because their extensive home-grown gardening, canning and wine making needs weren't accommodated by the small existing kitchen/dining areas, these clients hired Residential Architect LeeConstantine to improve their situation. Constantine separated the "wine making zone" from the everyday "family kitchen zone" striving to allow the zones to "flow" between the two without isolating one from the other. A small rear addition allowed the necessary expansion needed to create the different zones as well as provide for a new walk-in food pantry closet, the various prep and cooking centers, and the opportunity and space to entertain guests there to sample their delicious "creations".In addition, Constantine provided a design offering opportunities for the expression of the clients individual personalities and tastes. This was achieved by incorporating niches for artwork, arched stained glass components highlighting the "home-grown" concept and even a dumb waiter housed within a base cabinet accommodating the transport of 5 gallon "carboys" directly to the basement wine cellar.

The little cottage on Turnip Field Road in Eastham had been owned by the same couple since 1940, until they built a new, adjacent house on the property. The cottage was then handed down to the next generation, who began spending more and more time at the cottage. It was then that they contacted Cape Associates to construct a more livable home in place of that little cottage. It was crucial to the owners however, that the home keep with the understated charm and Cape Cod-feel of the neighborhood.
The primary challenge was to keep it humble, while building the owners their well-deserved vacation retreat. The original cottage had no air conditioning, and renovating was quickly dismissed because of the inadequacies and the cost of modernizing. Building new allowed the team to relocate the house further back from the street, and it meant meeting the owners’ needs without compromise.
Cape Associates’ project manager Lance LaLone said the owners expressed their desire to incorporate lots of wood and the types of materials that were in the old cottage. Most of the interior is pine, which was used on the flooring, the walls, and wrapped around the ceiling’s beams, giving the owners what they desired on a grander scale – a beautiful, modern dwelling that still held the personality of that little cottage that held such cherished memories.
The front of the home has a two-car garage and breezeway entrance, while the rear reveals an entertainer’s paradise, with an enormous mahogany deck with an outdoor shower, a stunning Connecticut-fieldstone fireplace with a chimney that reaches around 30 feet in height, and multiple sliders to access the home. The finished basement opens to the ground level, and above the entrance breezeway is another small deck with a great view. It’s the best of indoor/outdoor living.
Movement patterns from beach to house to bedroom were an important consideration. The site also provided an excellent opportunity to visually connect the basement level patio visually to the main level deck and finally the master bedroom deck. The finished home provides year-round living, with a summer-getaway atmosphere.
