A peninsula wraps the near corner and an island sits behind it, which gives the kitchen a long uninterrupted prep counter facing the range and a second surface that holds cleanup. Households that cook together run out of counter before they run out of cabinets, and this layout answers that directly. Cooking sits centered on the back wall under a hood, with a pot filler above the range so a filled stockpot never has to be carried across the room. The refrigerator is set at the end of that run, counter depth so it stays flush with the cabinet line and does not break the sight line down the wall. The main sink is placed in the island facing into the room rather than pushed against a wall. That keeps the person cleaning up oriented toward the living space, and it leaves the perimeter run entirely free for prep and staging. Storage was handled at the ends. A pantry sits behind the door at the far right and tall cabinetry closes both ends of the perimeter, so small appliances stay off the counters that the whole layout was designed to keep clear.
