The Living Room and Lounge areas are separated by a double sided custom steel fireplace, that creates two almost cube spaces on each side of it. The spaces are unified by a continuous cove ceiling finished in hand troweled white Venetian plaster. The wall is the Lounge area is a reclaimed wood sculpture by artist Peter Glassford. The Living room Pelican chairs by Finn Juhl sit atop custom "Labyrinth" wool and silk rugs by FORMA Design. The furniture in the Lounge area are by Stephen Ken, and a custom console by Tod Von Mertens sits under a Venetian Glass chandelier that is reimagined as a glass wall sculpture. Originally built in 1929 and designed by famed architect Albert Farr who was responsible for the Wolf House that was built for Jack London in Glen Ellen, this building has always had tremendous historical significance. In keeping with tradition, the new design incorporates intricate plaster crown moulding details throughout with a splash of contemporary finishes lining the corridors. From venetian plaster finishes to German engineered wood flooring this house exhibits a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary styles. Many of the rooms contain reclaimed wood paneling, discretely faux-finished Trufig outlets and a completely integrated Savant Home Automation system. Equipped with radiant flooring and forced air-conditioning on the upper floors as well as a full fitness, sauna and spa recreation center at the basement level, this home truly contains all the amenities of modern-day living. The primary suite area is outfitted with floor to ceiling Calacatta stone with an uninterrupted view of the Golden Gate bridge from the bathtub. This building is a truly iconic and revitalized space.

We honored the building’s history where possible, keeping original bones and character wherever possible, then layered in the clients’ distinct creative identity. On the main floor, we designed spaces that shift seamlessly from workday to reception-ready. Lighting was planned with intention, to preserve the original plaster ceilings and spotlight rotating installations without sacrificing ambient warmth. Custom built-ins maximize functionality while maintaining a distinctly un-officey feel. Upstairs, the artist apartment is a thoughtful retreat: adaptable, light-filled, and comfortable, with just enough quirk to spark inspiration. Even the basement—home to a full photography studio and workroom—balances technical needs with aesthetic ease. Throughout, we used color, texture, and collected pieces to ensure each room feels curated, not staged. Personal, not polished.

Our owners were looking to upgrade their master bedroom into a hotel-like oasis away from the world with a rustic "ski lodge" feel. The bathroom was gutted, we added some square footage from a closet next door and created a vaulted, spa-like bathroom space with a feature soaking tub. We connected the bedroom to the sitting space beyond to make sure both rooms were able to be used and work together. Added some beams to dress up the ceilings along with a new more modern soffit ceiling complete with an industrial style ceiling fan. The master bed will be positioned at the actual reclaimed barn-wood wall...The gas fireplace is see-through to the sitting area and ties the large space together with a warm accent. This wall is coated in a beautiful venetian plaster. Also included 2 walk-in closet spaces (being fitted with closet systems) and an exercise room.
