This was a remodel of a traditional craftsmen/shingle style home. The clients wanted to make their home more energy efficient, warm and functional. The solution was to bring more light into the spaces, insulate throughout and redo the existing space and create a fully functional, roomy kitchen to be used for both cooking and entertaining.

The Laurel was a project that required a rigorous lesson in southern architectural vernacular. The site being located in the hot climate of the Carolina shoreline, the client was eager to capture cross breezes and utilize outdoor entertainment spaces. The home was designed with three covered porches, one partially covered courtyard, and one screened porch, all accessed by way of French doors and extra tall double-hung windows. The open main level floor plan centers on common livings spaces, while still leaving room for a luxurious master suite. The upstairs loft includes two individual bed and bath suites, providing ample room for guests. Native materials were used in construction, including a metal roof and local timber.

The most elegant farmhouse kitchen - crisp white shaker cabinets meet luxurious white marble countertops. Crafted with refined trim detailing, tasteful subway tile backsplash and crisp chrome hardware finishing touches.

We aren't playing games with this beverage bar that is well suited to hosting game nights and family celebrations. It's a winning design that allocates deep drawers for bottles that are stored in the double door cabinet to the left or in the beverage cooler along with the mixers. The tall cabinet on the right side features a coffee maker and supplies. Open shelving is ready for varied uses whether it's showing off artwork or holding party supplies.

Figuring out the puzzle pieces to a remodeling project is a challenge we love to do. In the original kitchen, beverages like coffee and alcoholic mixers were spread out as space was available. The new beverage bar is designed to serve the morning java as well as the party drinks in an organized and consolidated place. The door above the beverage cooler houses the coffee maker and supplies while a drawer to the left houses larger bottles that don't need to be chilled.
