His award-worthy expertise has shaped projects across the nation, delivering turnkey, world-class lighting design, precise specification, and the supply of cutting-edge equipment and controls.
Known for his ability to integrate complex project components, Ross brings together the diverse yet interconnected disciplines of controls design, theatrical systems, and media display systems. This unique hybrid of skills allows him to craft bespoke solutions that transform ambitious concepts into breathtaking realities.
From architectural landmarks to community spaces, his work proves that exterior lighting is far more than illumination—it’s an art form. By balancing aesthetics, budgets, maintenance, and safety, Ross creates environments that are not only safe and inviting but also visually iconic. His designs shape vibrant landscapes, define signature skylines, and elevate the way we experience spaces after dark.

Marble countertops match seamlessly with the white cabinets. Dark hardwood floors make the white cabinets stand out while the stainless steel appliances add a modern touch.

A growing wine collection and a desire to elevate a Vernon Hills basement led to the creation of this custom, temperature-controlled wine cellar. Designed to hold nearly 500 bottles, it transforms storage into an architectural legacy piece. Luxury Elements proudly serves discerning homeowners throughout the North Shore and greater Chicagoland area.
The Challenge
The uniquely shaped room required a fully custom layout to maximize space. Our team navigated the challenging footprint to ensure every inch was functional without sacrificing style—a common requirement in high-end North Shore renovations where basements serve as primary entertainment spaces.
Design & Materials
Style: Traditional wine cellar designed as a statement feature to elevate the lower level.
Racks: Custom red oak wine racks, hand-stained to perfectly match the existing wood ceiling outside the room—demonstrating the level of millwork customization expected in luxury Winnetka, Lake Forest, and Lincolnshire estates.
Exterior: Stone veneer wraps the outside of the cellar, chosen to complement the stone on the basement fireplace for a cohesive, curated look.
Door: Custom metal-framed insulated glass enclosure to display the collection while maintaining precise climate control.
Lighting: Integrated LED lighting highlights the bottles and wood tones, creating ambiance for sophisticated entertaining.
The Result
The finished space exceeded client expectations. By combining precise temperature control with bespoke millwork, the cellar seamlessly integrates with the home's existing architecture, enhancing both daily enjoyment and property value.
Ideal Client
This project is ideal for Chicagoland homeowners looking to turn a functional need into a custom showpiece. Whether you're in Vernon Hills, Lincolnshire, Highland Park, or anywhere along the North Shore, Luxury Elements specializes in building unique, high-end solutions that match the existing architecture of your home—and we can build pretty much anything.

Modern Durability. Classic Style.
Sunscreens, a.k.a. roller shades are a very basic—yet functional—type of window treatment. But today's roller shades are not the ones you might have grown up with! Modern roller shades are highly engineered for precise movements and reliable durability. They also come in a wide variety of colors and opacity levels (or, how much light passes through the fabric), so you can truly find roller shades for any window in your home. And, because they are very basic, aesthetically, roller shades are a great foundation for other accents, such as curtains, drapes, and top treatments. They can also be motorized and automated to provide you privacy and light control with the touch of a button or better yet integrate into home automation like Alexa where one can create customized scenes settings.
Some of the best features of our sunscreens/roller shades include that they are:
- Available in a variety of materials, including fabric, solar, and vinyl
- Wide variety of opacities and colors
- Horizontal and vertical applications in the same room
- Customizable, with decorative hems and limitless color options
- Easy to operate, thanks to our motorized roller shade options
- Nearly invisible when rolled up, allowing for maximum window visibility
- Child- and pet-safe when you select cordless control
- Able to filter sunlight for the ideal light control you desire
