One material was used throughout the entire property to not take away from the home. A predominantly green planting scheme highlights the right areas and breaks up the hardscape. Simple, elegant and timeless.

Drought-tolerant, water-efficient plants (such as ornamental grasses, small shrubs, and groundcovers) predominate, arranged in flowerbeds with ample dark wood mulch to conserve moisture and prevent erosion. There is a transition between more and less shaded areas, with mature trees in the background.

This project is a client case study of a homeowner living in The Hague, Netherlands. The client's residence is a 180-square-meter detached villa. Originally from Vietnam, they immigrated to the Netherlands and settled in a picturesque town in The Hague. With a passion for tea culture, the entire house is styled in a modern fusion of Chinese and Japanese influences, predominantly featuring white and black-gray furniture, and even includes a dedicated tea room. The client reached out to us via Facebook, seeking recommendations and assistance in selecting suitable lighting fixtures for their dining area. We discussed their floor plan and desired style in detail. Firstly, considering the spaciousness of their villa, the dining area required ambient lighting rather than a central overhead light. We suggested incorporating pendant lights, spotlights, or strip lights to enhance the overall atmosphere. Secondly, their home decor adopted a minimalist approach, primarily using a black-white-gray color scheme, making vibrant and colorful lighting fixtures unsuitable. Ultimately, we recommended the PH5 pendant light in a white color, featuring a Nordic modern design, to the client. Upon receiving the product, the client expressed their satisfaction, stating that the chosen lighting fixture perfectly matched their requirements. The stepped board-formed concrete retaining walls, strong lines of the metal work and the organic character of the native plantings make a strong architectural statement while responding to the original slope. The board-formed concrete is colored with Davis Gray 860 and all of the metal work is painted Anthracite Gray in order to accentuate the strong lines while maintaining a muted color palette. The stairs and railings are capped with Cumaru wood for color warmth and material longevity. The plant palette is composed of predominantly California sun-loving natives - including Manzanita, California Buckwheat, California Poppy, and others - in order to capitalize on the southern exposure and provide a drought resistant landscape into the future.

Extensively renovated colonial located in Chappaqua, NY with 3,801 sq ft, 4 beds and 2.5 baths staged by BA Staging & Interiors. Bright white was used as the predominant color to unify the spaces. Light colored furniture, accessories and décor were chosen to complement the open floor space of the kitchen, casual dining area and family room.

Good design must reflect the personality of the client. So when siblings purchased studios in Downtown by Philippe Starck, one of the first buildings to herald the revitalization of Manhattan’s Financial District, the aim was to create environments that were truly bespoke. The brother’s tastes jibed synchronously with the insouciant idea of France’s most popular prankster converting a building that once housed the buttoned-up offices of JP Morgan Chase. His collection of Takashi Murakami works, the gallery-like centerpiece of the main area, announces his boldness and flair up front, as do furnishings by Droog, Moooi and, of course Starck, as well as hide rugs and upholstery, and a predominantly red palette. His sister was after something soothing and discreet. So Axis Mundi responded with a neutrals and used glass to carve out a bedroom surrounded by drapes that transform it into a golden cocoon. Hide (albeit less flamboyantly applied) evokes a familial commonality, and built-in furniture and cabinetry optimize space restrictions inherent in studio apartments. This charming modern farmhouse is located in Ada, MI. It has white board and batten siding with a light stone base and black windows and eaves. The complex roof (hipped dormer and cupola over the garage, barrel vault front entry, shed roofs, flared eaves and two jerkinheads, aka: clipped gable) was carefully designed and balanced to meet the clients wishes and to be compatible with the neighborhood style that was predominantly French Country.

Lee says, “The furnishings’ unique characteristics and visual appeal contribute to a sense of continuous luxury – it is now a home that is both bespoke and wonderfully beckoning.”
