Working with a professional engineer, the existing trusses were modified to support the open ceiling concept and then clad with cedar to deliver the faux beam design intent.

A new English Tudor Style residence, outfitted with all the amenities required for a growing family, includes this third-floor space that was developed into an exciting children’s play space. Tucked above the children’s bedroom wing and up a back stair, this space is a counterpoint to the formal areas of the house and provides the kids a place all their own. Large dormer windows allow for a light-filled space. Maple for the floor and end wall provides a warm and durable surface needed to accommodate such activities as basketball, indoor hockey, and the occasional bicycle. A sound-deadening floor system minimizes noise transmission to the spaces below.

This MossCreek Design is the Beauthaway and can be found in our ready to purchase home plans. The DIY Channel show called Raising House recently featured this MossCreek home. At 3,268 square feet, the house is a Rustic American style that blends a variety of regional architectural elements that can be found throughout the Appalachians from Maine to Georgia. www.mosscreek.net

This beautiful Hamptons kitchen features white cabinets, black countertops, dark wood floors, and a Wolf range reminiscent of the kitchen in 2003's "Something's Gotta Give." Stainless steel appliances are complimented by two pendant lights hanging above the island with black wood and wicker stools.

At the heart of 3Walls, the kitchen was conceived as both a social anchor and functional workspace. The homeowners passion for cooking plays a central role in the spatial organization of the house which required a layout that would support professional-level cooking and entertaining, and to do so without compromising accessibility.

The dramatic tone of the project is reached with the signature piece; a custom milled stone spiral stair used for entry into the room. After months of conceptualizing and sketching out how to make this a one-of-a-kind stair case, we arrived at the idea of having this element be fully self-supporting with no center pole or additional supports. To achieve this, milled stone treads and risers were CNC cut to specific dimensions and dry-laid onto one another, providing the strength needed to support the necessary weight. This stair tower also features stone walls to match the wine/cigar room, and custom iron handrails and spindles that were hand pounded on-site.

MA Peterson took an old concrete basement and turned it into a space filled with excitement and beauty. It started by relocating most of the mechanicals and appliances, and lowering the floor to add radiant heat in a new concrete slab. Next, a central wall was removed to open the space for a large family room and a steel beam was added for structural support. We filled in an old fireplace as well as old windows and added a larger window to allow natural light to pour in.
The Hubbardton Forge pendants in the family room are made of cork and are suspended over a custom-made stadium table, which was finished with four custom made barstools, complete with custom upholstery fabric for the seats and the U of M logo laser-inscribed into the backrest.
With a TV wall complete with three televisions for watching multiple games at once, a professional sound and light system, you can’t miss any play in this entertainment space!
