An artisan-crafted beautifully minimalist bedframe, redesigned from the ground up to be packed-flat and assembled in minutes by a single person. The metal inserts and hardwood allow the bed to be folded up and reassembled many times over when moving to a new home. It’s also the only bed that fits in the back of your Uber or Lyft! The Slash/Bed is made by artisans in Indonesia from naturally treated wood sourced from an FSC and LVLK certified lumber partner.

In order to save a historic childhood home, originally designed by renowned architect Alfred Giles, from being demolished after an estate stale, the current owners commissioned Fisher Heck to help document and dismantle their home for relocation out to the Hill Country. Every piece of stone, baluster, trim piece etc. was documented and cataloged so that it could be reassembled exactly like it was originally, much like a giant puzzle. The home, with its expansive front porch, now stands proud overlooking the sprawling landscape as a fully restored historic home that is sure to provide the owners with many more memories to come.

2 1/2" thick x 42" wide x 8' tall Claro Walnut entry door w/ cast bronze medallions. The original 3" thick Claro slab was sliced into book-matched, thick veneers, and reassembled over a core including 1 1/4" of rigid insulation to create an energy efficient entry door.

This historic piece is the kitchen's only original piece left after demo. Its inset design is the basis for the rest of the kitchen cabinets. We removed the doors, drawers, and shelving to be carefully disassembled, stripped and cleaned up piece by piece before reassembling to its previous glory. The cabinet was primed in an air positive paint chamber and hand painted on location with Banjamin Moore Satin Impervo oil enamel.
