Some of the aesthetic changes of this renovation involved removing the wallpaper and painting the walls a soft, neutral shade of gray. This change alone made a world of difference! The refreshed walls provided a beautiful backdrop against the rich, dark stain of the new cabinets and white granite counters. For the ‘Hers’ vanity, we filled in the sit-down vanity area with additional storage drawers, complete with electrical outlets inside – perfect for the hairdryer and styling tools. At the far end of the vanity, we installed a glass-front cabinet tower for more added storage. Reducing the size of the mirror and installing a matching frame allowed ample space for decorative sconces on each end. Final photos by www.impressia.net

Coronado, CA The Alameda Residence is situated on a relatively large, yet unusually shaped lot for the beachside community of Coronado, California. The orientation of the “L” shaped main home and linear shaped guest house and covered patio create a large, open courtyard central to the plan. The majority of the spaces in the home are designed to engage the courtyard, lending a sense of openness and light to the home. The aesthetics take inspiration from the simple, clean lines of a traditional “A-frame” barn, intermixed with sleek, minimal detailing that gives the home a contemporary flair. The interior and exterior materials and colors reflect the bright, vibrant hues and textures of the seaside locale.
