    Thank yo for the comment - closer to the front door we used American Boxwoods as foundation plants, they are behind the Annabelle Hydrangeas on this photo. For the remaining foundation areas we used Otto Luyken laurel (Prunus laurocerasus).

    I love this installation. After summer, do you prune back the hydrangeas so the boxwoods show the remaining seasons? I've heard one has to be careful when pruning hydrangeas not to prune off the buds for next year. I'd appreciate any input, thank you!
