Sometimes it makes sense to have two islands in a kitchen, especially in an expansive space. In this California inspired “Open Floor Plan” the double island can have many functions. One of the islands is a waterfall island that features a cooking station. The other has a seating area, a working sink, and a microwave drawer. Also, on the side wall in the room, is a built in hutch with sliding doors for storing those extra accessories. While the cook is working in one space, guests can sit and socialize at the other, leaving a cluster free area for moving around and yet not leave anyone out while talking!
The kitchen’s cabinets are done up in our rich Chocolate stain on Maple each adorned in a beautiful light colored counter top to contrast. The doors and drawers are a custom styled veneer slab door with horizontal grain, giving this kitchen a contemporary “frameless” look while actually using Full Overlay framed cabinetry. Its minimalistic lines create a simple and clean atmosphere.

This Wauwatosa Georgian Colonial home was in need of a kitchen remodel to that stayed true to the style of the home while blending in with the other recent updates made to the home. The previous kitchen had a broken stove, inefficient storage, high maintenance finishes, and lacked the simplicity that the clients wanted. Now after the remodel there is improved circulation into the dinette for entertaining family and friends.
Lighting was vastly improved and now highlights the coffered ceiling, subway tile backsplash, and cabinetry. The clean look of the full overlay white Plato cabinetry allows for a contrast with the Verde Peacock Lite granite countertops. A 36″ Thermador cooktop and GE appliances provide for an updated stainless look and a kitchen ready for cooking. The Ebony stained maple hardwood flooring adds the final soft touch for an updated kitchen in 2015.

This project was not only full of many bathrooms but also many different aesthetics. The goals were fourfold, create a new master suite, update the basement bath, add a new powder bath and my favorite, make them all completely different aesthetics.
Primary Bath-This was originally a small 60SF full bath sandwiched in between closets and walls of built-in cabinetry that blossomed into a 130SF, five-piece primary suite. This room was to be focused on a transitional aesthetic that would be adorned with Calcutta gold marble, gold fixtures and matte black geometric tile arrangements.
Powder Bath-A new addition to the home leans more on the traditional side of the transitional movement using moody blues and greens accented with brass. A fun play was the asymmetry of the 3-light sconce brings the aesthetic more to the modern side of transitional. My favorite element in the space, however, is the green, pink black and white deco tile on the floor whose colors are reflected in the details of the Australian wallpaper.
Hall Bath-Looking to touch on the home's 70's roots, we went for a mid-mod fresh update. Black Calcutta floors, linear-stacked porcelain tile, mixed woods and strong black and white accents. The green tile may be the star but the matte white ribbed tiles in the shower and behind the vanity are the true unsung heroes.

A reach-in closet - one of our specialties - works hard to store many of our most important possessions and with one of our custom closet organizers, you can literally double your storage.
Most reach-in closets start with a single hanging rod and shelf above it. Imagine adding multiple rods, custom-built trays, shelving, and cabinets that will utilize even the hard-to-reach areas behind the walls. Your closet organizer system will have plenty of space for your shoes, accessories, laundry, and valuables. We can do that, and more.
Please browse our gallery of custom closet organizers and start visualizing ideas for your own closet, and let your designer know which ones appeal to you the most. Have fun and keep in mind – this is just the beginning of all the storage solutions and customization we offer.

It's not often that you can take advantage of a lake view out in the suburbs of Chicago. This previously closed off kitchen now features an updated design with a great sightlines of the marvelous backyard landscape. The PB Kitchens Design team eliminated the formal eating area and instead, created an island with four spaces for seating, a second sink, and an abundance of storage. The outdoors is brought in via the large new windows and the earthy grey cabinet colors.
Project specs: Cabinets by Signature Custom Cabinetry. The island features a Peruvian walnut island top from Grothouse Lumber. Dark granite countertop on the perimeter cabinetry. Quarter sawn white oak is used on the perimeter and island cabinets. Both are stained a weathered grey with the island a darker shade. Peruvian walnut island top from Grothouse Lumber are signature elements in this transitional kitchen.
