This client loves beautiful furniture but equally loves to remain within her budget. She often shops clearance but will easily merge custom pieces into her space to complete the look. She has a collection of random treasures and we incorporated them into the design of the room. Her design style is modern with a global and timeless touch. Her colors choices are greys and neutrals. With this family room, the inspiration came from an Ethan Allen brochure image. She wanted to achieve the same concept, but more modern perspective. A clearance Conway sectional, is the foundation of the space and an assortment of custom pieces were added to finish the design. This client purchases in phases, and with her patience is key. Over 12 months of working together, we created the family room of her dreams. As designer, my job is to deliver no matter the circumstance. I love this room because it represents just that.

This family crest stained glass panel was created for our clients that had lived in their home in Salt Lake City for a very long time. Several generations of their family had grown up in the home and it was continually passed down in ownership throughout hundreds of years, so naturally it was an important part of their lives. They were looking for a piece of art for their home that would be meaningful to their family, especially their children who would inherit the home after their passing. That’s why they decided on this family crest stained glass panel. Family crests have been used for hundreds of years as a way of showing loyalty to one’s clan. They are often designed with images and symbols that are representative of the family’s value and identity.

My clients love fantasy and role playing. They requested a pair of peacocks in a Tree of Life, to represent themselves and the balance between light and dark. The result is this impressive front door stained glass piece of art. Christie A. Wood

The Rosebury Farm project by Squared Architects is a thoughtfully planned residential development located on the edge of suburban London, designed to balance contemporary living with a strong sensitivity to its rural surroundings. Set within a green belt context, the scheme consists of a collection of individually designed homes that follow a self-build or custom-build approach, allowing for variation while maintaining a cohesive architectural identity. The design emphasizes integration with the landscape, using staggered building forms and carefully arranged massing to reduce visual impact and preserve key views across the site. Natural materials and a restrained palette help the homes blend into their environment, while features such as green walls and planted areas reinforce the connection between architecture and nature. Internally, the houses are designed with flexible, open-plan layouts that support modern living, prioritizing natural light and spatial fluidity. Sustainability is a core principle throughout the project, with energy-efficient strategies and environmentally responsive design choices embedded from the outset. Overall, Rosebury Farm represents a contemporary yet context-sensitive housing model, combining architectural quality, environmental awareness, and a community-oriented approach to residential development.

This is the main outdoor living area, the couches and coffee table are a comfortable place to relax and at the back there is a dining room table. The view of the jungle is incredible. I was asked to do full photographic coverage of this private villa for future rentals. From the wide shots and views to the details and smaller spaces, the interiors and exteriors of this beautiful villa are represented.

MKC Audio Video designed only the audio and video aspects of this home theater system. The front screen is a Screen Innovations Zero Edge Pro with Slate AT ambient light rejecting material. Behind the acoustically transparent screen are the LCR speakers for the front soundstage. Here we used Dali Phantom M-350 in-wall cabinet speakers. Also, in the front lower left wall is a Sonance invisible subwoofer. For the sidewalls, MKC AV installed our custom acoustic wall panels with grey Guilford of Maine fabric. These panels hide the surround speakers as well as the front and rear Atmos height speakers. The side and rear surround speakers are Dali Phantom M-250's and the Atmost speakers are OSD ACE870 speakers. The AVR is a Marantz Cinema 40 with a Sonance DSP-750 sub amp. The projector is a Sony 4K laser XW5000ES. The lighting and seating were purchased by the homeowner and do not represent our standards for quality.

VPC partnered with the owners of Rustic Mountain Residence to help them build this mountain home of their dreams. The stunning structure was carefully crafted for full-time residency in a community tucked away in North Carolina’s High Country. Rustic Mountain Residence is a 1,999 square foot home complete with three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a two-car garage. The home’s exterior was designed with an architectural shingle roof displaying metal accents, natural stone veneer, cypress, and nickel gap siding. The meticulous attention to detail and design is evident in the exterior, including gorgeous bark accents and stark black painted windows and soffit. Inside the residence, tongue and groove ceilings, pine hardwood flooring, canned lighting, and shadowbox trim were used on all doors and windows. Noteworthy features on the main level include a sliding barn door in the powder room and reclaimed barnwood accent walls in the dining space. The great room offers a grand and warm living space with windows peering into the expansive mountain vistas, a natural stone gas fireplace, and an open concept with a view into the kitchen. The kitchen represents the quintessence of Rustic Mountain Residence by showcasing an exquisite, hammered copper sink, large subway tile backsplash, and custom cabinets. The master bedroom and master bathroom are truly a charming retreat for the homeowners with high ceilings in the bedroom and an adjoining full master bath. The two guest rooms and shared bathroom upstairs are ideal for hosting family and friends with a hybrid office in the second guest room. From start to finish, we assisted the homeowners to build the mountain retreat they envisioned. Inna Picart Photography We had this home on South Mountain freshly painted throughout. We were able to use some of our client's existing pieces of furniture, along with many new pieces. Each room is distinctly different from the next. Our client favors a contemporary style, which we were able to accomplish in the master bedroom and formal living room. The family room decor incorporates African family heirlooms to represent our client's heritage.

The chimneybreast is enlivened with wood raised paneling in the Queen Anne style. The fireplace opening is surrounded by a shapely bolection mould. James Latta Photography - As an interior designer, I liked my home but was not "in love" with it. I didn't feel in sync with the style and architecture despite compliments from friends and family. It was time for a change. I sold my Floating Home (see Sleepless in Portland: Houseboat Diary) and my La Quinta home (see Transitional Living, La Quinta) and downsized to a house that's a better fit. The home was lacking sufficient storage so I added a beverage center with storage cabinets and a butcher block countertop to the dining room. An Ikea table frame was powder coated in dark grey and fitted with a Cambria Quartz dining top. A matching quartz piece was added to create a kitchen bar seating area and includes a beautiful waterfall edge. Reclaimed wood square tiles were added to the kitchen pop up ceiling and the living room fireplace to add warmth and texture. Black and white photography of the local desert landscape frame the fireplace. Although the home is mainly grey, black and white, pops of red are a recurring theme thought the interior and exterior, including a red barn door at the kitchen pantry. I broke design rules and didnt take the "safe" route. Quirky accent items can be found throughout the home. These include a wall-mounted family accordion, framed movie quotes in one of the guest rooms, a custom canvas photo of my miniature schnauzer, and dragon print accent pillows throughout. A Tongue and Groove (T&G) wood ceiling transformed the master bedroom and a beautiful red area rug adds color and warmth. The result is DARING and yet comfortable. The backyard was completely renovated. Tons of white rock were removed and beautiful landscaping and lighting were added as well as an additional 500 square feet of pavers. A sun shade, red umbrellas, and patio misters create inviting seating areas for friends and family. Tongue and Groove wood was also added to the outdoor patio ceilings. A high end surround sound system and built in BBQ with patterned cement tiles complete this outdoor living space. The process was exhausting and time consuming but now that it is over, I am thrilled with the results. I now live in a home that nourishes my soul and better represents my style and tastes.
