A one-level patio creates opportunities for small and large gatherings of family and friends. The peaceful surrounds and mature trees provide shade and respite for wildlife.

Trail Top is nestled in a secluded, thickly-wooded neighborhood, and its wood and brick facade and low profile blend into the natural surroundings.
The home was built as a private respite from the outside world, as evidenced by the solid wood, windowless doors that grace the entrance.

Once upon a time, this property was a working family farm, echoing the areas' lengthy history as a cattle settlement.
For decades, the cows grazing just off busy suburban roads proved an incongruous sight, and now, this jewel of land has been transformed into a sophisticated community of homes, apartments, restaurants and retail.
This new "midtown" concept is buzzing with excitement, and provides much needed respite in the midst of this bustling locale.
Kay Green Design created an homage to the history of the site by designing a very cozy, current interior, thoughtfully inspired by the pastoral vernacular.
The result; a unique retreat, complete with today's sought-after amenities, and featuring a spirited "rustic chic" vibe.

Located within a circa 1900 Victorian home in the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington DC, this elegantly renovated bathroom offers a soothing respite for guests. Features include a furniture style vanity, coordinating medicine cabinet from Rejuvenation, a custom corner shower with diamond patterned tiles, and a clawfoot tub situated under niches clad in waterjet marble and glass mosaics.

Step into a sanctuary of comfort and style where tranquillity meets design excellence. The master bathroom reveals a dual vanity solid washstand, an exquisite centerpiece that hovers gracefully above a floor adorned with white and grey marble tiles.
The washstand, with its dual vanity, is a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics. It's a reflection of contemporary luxury, where the pairing of white and grey marble tiles adds an element of timelessness. The full overlay doors, with their horizontal grain matched in oak and finished to a clear, natural hue, are a testament to the beauty of simplicity and craftsmanship.
The choice of oak with a clear finish not only showcases the wood's natural beauty but also adds a touch of warmth to the clean, crisp lines of the bathroom. It's a nod to nature within this modern oasis, where design meets functionality with impeccable grace.
The washstand's floating design adds a sense of openness, and the dual vanity ensures that there's ample space for both practical and personal needs. Whether you're preparing for the day ahead or winding down in the evening, this space is your retreat.
As you explore the images, you'll appreciate the serene elegance of this master bathroom. It's a place of respite and rejuvenation, where every detail has been considered for comfort and style. Welcome to a master bathroom that's more than just a functional space; it's a haven of luxury and design excellence.

When a husband and wife team of professional botanists wanted to remodel their cramped, 1980s-era bathroom, we naturally looked to the forest for inspiration! With the expert help of Elite Construction Services Inc., we opened up this formerly segmented space (the toilet and washer/dryer were in a separate area from the shower/tub and vanity) to make it feel larger. A controlled, muted color scheme further enlarges the room by connecting all the planes, and serves as a neutral backdrop for a calming spa experience.
All the materials speak to my clients’ love of nature. The custom wood vanity with tower and coordinating mirror frame are made so the grain lays in a refreshing horizontal pattern. The porcelain field tile is made to look like limestone with shadows of sediment and fossils. Other elements add to the feeling of a walk in the woods: long-format porcelain tiles of falling leaves cascade down a wall and blend into a stream of river stones that roll across the width of the space. The open, curbless shower with a hidden linear drain invites users for a cleansing respite. Sleek, modern fixtures and a wall-hung toilet enhance the clean, soothing look of this organic, tranquil bathroom.

A truly beautiful addition to the Normandy Beach community, this custom home sits overlooking the Barnegat Bay. A summer escape for an ever-growing family, Falcon Industries has had the privelege of building two custom homes for this amazing family. Taking into consideration new building codes and elevations put in place following Hurricane Sandy, this home artfully meets these standards while creating a comfortable and inviting respite from the everyday. Custom furniture, including bedding and dressers hand-built by the Falcon team, are just some of the magical elements of this residence.

Kitchen and Bar: Brookhaven Vista Door in Vintage Baltic Sea and Nordic White
Two empty nesters sought a downsized yet modern space that was ideal for entertaining at home. For their new home, Cabinets by Design delivered a contemporary, clutter-free interior that also supports the homeowners’ love of wine collecting and dinner parties. A centrally located kitchen is anchored by a large island with seating, and strategically situated between the dining and living rooms. The kitchen and adjacent bar are outfitted with luxury appliances, cabinetry and finishes while the large master bath provides a calm spa-like respite from the couple’s busy social life.

Harmoniously blending luxury and functionality, our latest project is a testament to thoughtful design and seamless integration. A custom-designed pool takes center stage, surrounded by meticulously crafted patios and decks, offering spaces for relaxation and entertainment.
Complementing the pool, a bespoke pool house stands as a retreat for both convenience and leisure. It seamlessly combines style and function, providing a space for respite and recreation.
What sets this project apart is the meticulous planning and execution. Every element, from the pool to the patios, has been expertly designed to work together within a master landscape plan. The result is a cohesive and visually stunning outdoor space that caters to both aesthetics and practicality.
This project is a celebration of outdoor living at its finest. It's a sanctuary for relaxation, a hub for entertainment, and a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that enhance the lifestyle of our clients. We take pride in presenting this haven, knowing it will be cherished for years to come. It's not just a project; it's a legacy of unforgettable moments and cherished gatherings, all seamlessly woven into the fabric of everyday life.

Elegant Oasis: Maximizing Entertaining Space
In reimagining this 14,233 sqft lot, the goal was to create a high-impact, space-efficient outdoor environment, where space meets sophistication for unrivaled outdoor entertaining.
This presentation outlines the thoughtfully designed elements which were meticulously integrated to maximize entertaining space within the constraints of the property.
The project commenced with relocating the pool to the furthest reaches of the property, respecting property line setbacks to amplify the area available for entertainment. Adjacent to the back door, a covered built-in kitchen and intimate seating area offer protection from both bugs and the scorching afternoon sun, thanks to a convenient drop-down screen.
The 18'x36' pool serves as the focal point, backed by an 18" masonry wall adorned with LED lighting accents. Behind this backdrop, a hedge of long-blooming hydrangeas and espalier-shaped European hornbeams complements the formal design, infusing the space with timeless elegance.
The pool deck features a sturdy 5" rebar-reinforced concrete overlay with Valders Dove White and gray stone laid in a herringbone pattern (5'x18" pieces). To address stormwater retention, a large drywell behind the pool was repurposed as the base for a putting green, encircled by permeable gravel and stone coping. Landscape lighting makes it perfect for endless fun, day and night.
To minimize the “fence feeling” and to distinguish the detached garage driveway, a grand outdoor fireplace and wall were constructed. This space also includes an outdoor TV and speaker system. A pergola, built from large steel I-beams and cedar, provides respite from the summer sun.
For continuity and aesthetic impact, the hydrangea hedge extends the entire length of the property, maximizing the use of the narrow 36" side.
The front of the property is equally striking. A heated concrete driveway, saw-cut into 5'x5' squares, provides a grand entrance. The front porch and walkway feature heated, randomly patterned bluestone, expertly set on a concrete sub-base. Two sets of garden walls enclose the front yard, with the closest to the front door boasting three water scuppers and a pondless waterfall system, creating a captivating ambiance for arriving guests.
The property's front and rear areas are adorned with various planting beds and containers, which are seasonally adapted to ensure a vibrant landscape year-round.
Formal, columnar trees, such as slender silhouette sweetgum, columnar tulip trees, sheared European hornbeams, and shaped tricolor beech, were chosen to harmonize with the property's architecture. Crushed blue granite gravel was used to cover all planting beds, maintaining a clean and low-maintenance appearance.
In conclusion, our project has not only met but exceeded our client's expectations by delivering a low-maintenance, high-impact, and space-efficient outdoor haven.

Our socially engaged, active client transplanted from the East Coast found a charming older home in Minneapolis that provided a home base in a new city. While the home had its charm, the dark interior didn’t provide the uplifting respite she desired. With a busy travel schedule and calendar full of after-hours social events, she was looking for a space to unwind at the end of a long day. She wanted to maximize her time at home, and a place to host friends pre-gala. We transformed an extra bedroom into a happy-hour type lounge with upholstered chairs and bar cart along with her Grandmother’s vanity and privacy screen for the ultimate pre-gala experience. In the kitchen, we replaced the dark cabinetry with open painted shelves to lighten the space and provide convenient access to her glassware, adding sparkle to the room. And perhaps most importantly, her bedroom is now a quiet, peaceful refuge with luxurious details that wrap her in warmth and relaxation.
