Arched brick ceiling with a custom made light fixture. The owners found the parts for this light fixture over the island and had a local artist create this one of a kind fixture. The table with the seating is made from an old bowling alley lane. The pin placement marks can still be seen on the table top. The table is free standing so it can be moved off the island if desired. At the other end of the home is this media room featuring a Velvet Aqua sectional and area rug that defines the TV screening area. An accent chair in the very bold pillow fabric is added to balance the seating area and a large Zebra print leather hide cocktail ottoman for casual feet-up comfort in front of the sectional. An exterior entrance leads into an entry with a console on the left and a round table right front. The round entry table has Crocodile embossed leatherstools that can be used as seating around the table or pulled into the screening area. Assorted trees and accessories ad to the coastal vibe while the selected furniture is more eclectic than overtly beachy.

The juxtaposition of raw, weathered and finished woods with sleek whites, mixed metals and soft textured elements strike a fabulous balance between industrial, rustic and glamorous – exactly what the designers envisioned for this dream retreat. This unique home’s design combines recycled shipping containers with traditional stick-building methods and resulted in a luxury hybrid home, inside and out. The design team was particularly challenged with overcoming various preconceived notions about containers to truly create something new, luxurious and sustainable.
