We proceeded to expand the opening between
the Kitchen and Butler Pantry, which included relocating waste and water lines from the second floor.
We upgraded the existing electrical and installed a 440-volt electrical system for the entire home.

Working with some of the best cabinetry designers in Illinois, DBCC was able to step "outside of the box" to design this one of a kind spirits cabinet. This cherry-finish hardwood piece features custom detailed glass door panels and room to store 16 wine bottles with a generous amount of room for additional liquor storage.
Open the dual armoire doors 180° and expose a glass mirror back, a wooden stemware rack, and a 3x power strip located in the center shelf for operating small appliances. Two side-by-side drawers in the center provide ample utensil storage and run on smooth metal glides. Laminated lift-up drawers are located inside the two drawers for additional work surface area. Automatic light is activated when full fold-back door is opened, and deactivated when door is closed.

Studio Good ArchitectsThis residential retreat on the Deschutes River near Maupin, Oregon is uniquely designed around a large central deck overlooking the river. Used for relaxation and entertainment, the deck is partially covered to function as an outdoor room. A large barn door can close off the deck for additional privacy, protection from the westerly winds and security. The deck space also separates the master suite from the great room for an enhanced sense of privacy and intimacy.
By keeping square footage at a minimum and construction straight forward, the simple, cost-effective design met the client's tight budget constraints without compromising features. The shed roof design increases the sense of height of the interior space on the upper level, opening up dramatic easterly views toward the river and hills beyond. The great room combines the kitchen, dining and living room into an open, flexible floor plan. Two guest rooms, a guest bathroom, utility room, mud room and garage efficiently occupy the lower level of the structure.
Located in the high-desert east of the Cascade Mountains, an area prone to range fires, this home is extremely fire-resistant. Features include a fireproof metal roof, concrete pavers instead of wood on the deck and fiber cement siding along the lower level.
Allen Ross Architecture, LLCAllen Ross Architecture was hired to design a new retreat center that includes a multi-purpose Party Barn with a 3/4 basketball court, guest house, pool, sports field, tennis court, adventure course, outdoor kitchen, and changing cabana. Careful thought was given to the component relationships and how one moves through the site. Elements were configured to address function, aesthetics, security, and safety. Code mandated pool enclosure requirements were met without blocking views and without enclosure fencing.
Adjacent wetlands, storm water management requirements, and multiple zoning limitations necessitated thoughtful permitting applications. Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board approvals were required. Extensive infrastructure improvements and property grading were needed to meet the regulatory and client program requirements.
The design intent was a crisp transitional style that is sympathetic with the Georgian buildings located elsewhere on the site. Timber trusses support the guest house roof and steel moment frames support the barn roof.
