The front of the home that you see from the street doesn't show off the special interior inside. The gate on the left slides closed to give more privacy to the residence from the street and conceal the pool area. The garage door is made from the same cement board siding to blend in with the rest of the home.

Although this enclosed porch was originally quite drafty, it was one of our client's favorite spots to spend time before the remodel. Our goal was to make the space more comfortable and better integrated into the overall flow of the home. Thus, we raised the floor to the same height of the rest of the house, creating a seamless transition between the kitchen and porch. Using the same oak flooring and cherry cabinets throughout both spaces allowed us to further connect the two rooms visually.

Designer Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn helped a neighbor and friend to update a “builder grade” kitchen into a personal, family space that feels luxurious and inviting.
The homeowner wanted to solve a number of storage and flow problems in the kitchen, including a wasted area dedicated to a desk, too-little pantry storage, and her wish for a kitchen bar. The all white builder kitchen lacked character, and the client wanted to inject color, texture and personality into the kitchen while keeping it classic.
