This 1990's home, located in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley neighbourhood, had high ceilings and a great open plan layout but the decor was straight out of the 90's complete with sponge painted walls in dark earth tones. The owners, a young professional couple, enlisted our help to take it from dated and dreary to modern and bright. We started by removing details like chair rails and crown mouldings, that did not suit the modern architectural lines of the home. We replaced the heavily worn wood floors with a new high end, light coloured, wood-look laminate that will withstand the wear and tear from their two energetic golden retrievers. Since the main living space is completely open plan it was important that we work with simple consistent finishes for a clean modern look. The all white kitchen features flat doors with minimal hardware and a solid surface marble-look countertop and backsplash. We modernized all of the lighting and updated the bathrooms and master bedroom as well. The only departure from our clean modern scheme is found in the dressing room where the client was looking for a more dressed up feminine feel but we kept a thread of grey consistent even in this more vivid colour scheme. We completely remodeled the staircase in this home. Carpet was removed, custom wood treads were installed and risers painted white. We replaced the wood balusters for transitional iron balusters in pewter. The posts and rails were replaced as well.

You simply run the paper tiger in a circular motion all over the walls making a lot of little holes,. The holes scored in the vinyl let the the moisture pass through and get to the glue. The moisture will then soften the glue . . . at least that is how it is supposed to work. We'll see if it does with a garment steamer.

Inspiration for a small transitional concrete floor and brown floor entryway remodel in Austin with gray walls and a white front door

Floor-to-ceiling storage now neatly houses all pantry items for this family of four. By removing the old pantry that once blocked the connection to the dining room, natural light can now flow freely into the kitchen. A perfect example of smart, intentional space planning.

Simplicity, Calming, Contemporary and easy to clean were all adjectives the home owners wanted to see in their new Master Bathroom remodel. A oversized Jacuzzi tub was removed to create a very large walk in shower with a wet and dry zone. Corner benches were added for seating along with a niche for toiletries. The new vanity has plenty of storage capacity. The chrome fixtures coordinate with the mirrors and vanity lights to create a contemporary and relaxing Master Bathroom.

A beautifully remodeled primary bathroom ensuite inspired by the homeowner’s European travels. This spacious bathroom was dated and had a cold cave like shower. The homeowner desired a beautiful space with a European feel, like the ones she discovered on her travels to Europe. She also wanted a privacy door separating the bathroom from her bedroom. The designer opened up the closed off shower by removing the soffit and dark cabinet next to the shower to add glass and let light in. Now the entire room is bright and airy with marble look porcelain tile throughout. The archway was added to frame in the under-mount tub. The double vanity in a soft gray paint and topped with Corian Quartz compliments the marble tile. The new chandelier along with the chrome fixtures add just the right amount of luxury to the room. Now when you come in from the bedroom you are enticed to come in and stay a while in this beautiful space.
