This client wanted the nook off of her bedroom to become a haven- a zen space for meditation, reading, and reflection. She liked the idea of clouds, but didn't want a literal skyscape. I created a smokey cloud-like texture as a base and then added hand drawn florals in gold.

This house had not been upgraded since the 1960s. As a result, it needed to be modernized for aesthetic and functional reasons. At first we worked on the powder room and small master bathroom. Over time, we also gutted the kitchen, originally three small rooms, and combined it into one large and modern space. This stunning black and silver wine room is the ideal focal point for wine collectors in Frisco, Texas. The inspiration for the color palette, were the Cleopatra Silver Mosaic Tiles the homeowners selected for the walls of the space. Elevation wine racks with silver posts and smoked acrylic bottle holders compliment the tiles while the insulated glass enclosure with black trim and hardware match the rest of the aesthetic. The design for this 6’ by 8’ wine room accommodates just over 330 bottles. The space features quarter sawn white oak with a clear satin finish, and soft accent lighting to set the mood.

The custom height single ovens were placed side by side to allow for easy use and the large island provided plenty of work space. The combination of clean sleek lines with a variety of finishes and textures keeps this “beach house cottage look” current and comfortable.

A growing family, a rambling Georgian estate. The question: how to imbue tradition with a fresh spirit? The charge was to maintain the idea of old school charm without the interior feeling just… old. An illustration could be found in picture molding (which we added, then painted to disappear into the walls) or a modern plaster sculpture teetering upon an old barrister bookcase. This project is in progress with construction beginning July '22. We are expanding and relocating an existing home bar, adding millwork for the walls, and painting the walls and ceiling in a high gloss emerald green. The furnishings budget is $50,000.

Reverse Shed Eichler This project is part tear-down, part remodel. The original L-shaped plan allowed the living/ dining/ kitchen wing to be completely re-built while retaining the shell of the bedroom wing virtually intact. The rebuilt entertainment wing was enlarged 50% and covered with a low-slope reverse-shed roof sloping from eleven to thirteen feet. The shed roof floats on a continuous glass clerestory with eight foot transom. Cantilevered steel frames support wood roof beams with eaves of up to ten feet. An interior glass clerestory separates the kitchen and livingroom for sound control. A wall-to-wall skylight illuminates the north wall of the kitchen/family room. New additions at the back of the house add several “sliding” wall planes, where interior walls continue past full-height windows to the exterior, complimenting the typical Eichler indoor-outdoor ceiling and floor planes. The existing bedroom wing has been re-configured on the interior, changing three small bedrooms into two larger ones, and adding a guest suite in part of the original garage. A previous den addition provided the perfect spot for a large master ensuite bath and walk-in closet. Natural materials predominate, with fir ceilings, limestone veneer fireplace walls, anigre veneer cabinets, fir sliding windows and interior doors, bamboo floors, and concrete patios and walks.
