This staircase is more than just steps, risers and a railing. We wanted to capture another view of the lake each and every time you climb the stairs, and we knew we accomplished this when the homeowner said this was his favorite space!

This new 6400 s.f. two-story split-level home lifts upward and orients toward unobstructed views of Windy Hill. The deep overhanging flat roof design with a stepped fascia preserves the classic modern lines of the building while incorporating a Zero-Net Energy photovoltaic panel system. From start to finish, the construction is uniformly energy efficient and follows California Build It Green guidelines. With flat panel, dark wood cabinets, oversized pulls, poured concrete countertops and sleek backsplash tiles, this kitchen redesign brings the 'now' to a remodel/addition of a 50's split-level. The end result exudes character and warmth while staying true to the modernistic origins of the split-level design concept.

Designed around the sunset downtown views from the living room with open-concept living, the split-level layout provides gracious spaces for entertaining, and privacy for family members to pursue distinct pursuits.

This entry renovation worked entirely within the existing structure of the house. The closet opposite the front door was removed to create more depth physically and visually. Most of the work was done with interior finishes and custom built-ins.
