This entrance way needed a makeover. The plants here were not thriving, and the homeowner did not like the design. The walk was made of flagstone stepping stones and did not stand out because of the grass surrounding each stone. This job was constructed over a couple of years with the walk and its cobblestone border constructed one year; the cobblestone border around the bed on the other side of the front constructed the next year, along with leaf compost roto-tilled into the bed to improve the soil. The beds were planted in the fall of the 2013, and the planting completed in the spring 2014. Some of the deer resistant plants used were narrow upright 'Dee Runk' boxwood, 'Admiration' barberry, Pieris, Acuba, 'Otto Luyken' cherry laurel, and a few varieties of Azalea, with a couple transplanted from the original planting. The hostas which can sometimes be devoured by deer were transplanted from the side of the house, and were larger leaved varieties that the deer seem to leave alone on this property. The bed was mulched in the fall of 2013 with leaf compost, and in spring of 2014 with 1/2 shredded bark mixed with 1/2 leaf compost, to help improve the soil.

Based on the nature richness of our country, a favorable, natural environment has been created using natural materials such as wood and stone, as well as new materials such as quartz agglomerate, HPL panels and tempered glass. The space is maximally filled with air and light, which is facilitated by panoramic glazing of facades and the use of light and warm finishing materials. In the interior, there are green zones in the form of separately standing islands and a vertical green garden wall. In addition to aesthetics, it allows you to clean the air of dust and harmful substances, saturate it with phytoncides and adjust the humidity. In the Departure Hall an upright garden of 38 m2 has more than 25 plant species. A fully automated control system includes watering, it also controls the chemical composition of the water and includes artificial lighting necessary for normal plant growth. There are some island waiting zones made in the form of ellipsoidal green beds and equipped with power and USB sockets for powering electronic devices. The Dental Studio is a highly intricate building that uniquely links two separate stands of two neighbourhoods and straddling a four metre broad municipal servitude. The western part of the neighbourhood is an office precinct consisting of low scaled office buildings set around a communal access street and parking. It was designed for a leading dental practice with state of the art equipment and progressive philosophy of service. It presents itself as an uncomplicated rectangular structural mass that elegantly characterise an intersection of a major neighbourhood boulevard and is notable along the eastern end with an upright circulation tower. The western end on the other hand, is characterised with vertical solar control screens which serve a dual purpose, that is, sifting low down western sun rays as well as giving a serene appeal to the mass. The daring spotless form of the building is a truthful reflection of the nature of the sterile dental environment that is housed within. This houses the central vestibule and reception with a visual interface as well as pedestrian movements along the edge of the building. Healing and healthcare is a paradox that requires architectural intervention. It is this same paradox that informed measures taken towards developing this project as a revised prototype. Exacerbated by the need to research a building type that can promote healing environment, the Dental Studio attempts to create a closer harmony with nature through views, landscape and daylight.
