Putting together a design for homes on the waterfront is always a favourite for us. When the view is the artwork, it’s a win win. This doesn’t mean that you can’t create the same look without the water views, and this office is an example of that. The watery blue tones that you can bring indoors, can be almost as spectacular as the real thing. This office is now colourful, relaxed and fresh. The storage is no longer an issue with these generous built-ins and file drawers. The work surface is being maximized and useful for this clients growing business. The inspiration for this room was the clients canvas artwork previously purchased, we pulled some colours from it such as the paint colour on the wall OC-26 Silver Satin and feature wall 2052-40 Blue Spa. This first floor remodel included the kitchen, powder room, mudroom, laundry room, living room and office. The bright, white kitchen is accented by gray-blue island with seating for four. Black walls set off the room's cream furnishings and gold accents. Touches of pink add personality; the pink ceiling medallion adds emphasis to the elegant chandelier. Highlighting the tall windows, black painted frames add graphic interest against the cream sills. Drapery emphasizes the ceiling height while absorbing sound and adding warmth. A huge custom rug unifies the seating and working areas and further contributes to the hushed atmosphere. In order for this room to feel more like a retreat and less like an office, we used regular furniture pieces in non-standard ways. The client’s heirloom dining table serves as a writing table. A pair of brass and glass consoles holds printer, stationery, and files as well as decorative items. A cream lacquered linen sideboard provides additional storage. A pair of cushy swivel chairs serves multiple functions – facing a loveseat and bench to create a cozy seating area, facing each other for intimate discussions, and facing the desk for more standard business meetings.

Near Downtown Denver, this hayloft above a carriage house, now garage, was an underutilized storage space. Our client wanted to turn it into an office for her at home business. On a fairly tight budget we were able to clean it up. In the process we discovered the beautiful framing of the roof structure that we decided to highlight. The whole team was thrilled with the result.

The home office built-in Brookhaven desk -- the homeowner wanted space for home accounts and crafting. We provided a large work counter, computer station, lots of open shelves, file drawers and storage both in the tall cabinets and at the outside front of the desk with base cabinets. The main work area faces out so that this busy mom can keep an eye on her kids while getting her projects done. The cabinetry is finished with a red country stain on maple & we used laminate counters -- cost saving and a great surface for multi-use desks! Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry: Brookhaven's Andover
