Winner Contemporary Study or Office Meredith Marlow Interiors Business at Home “When our clients requested a fully functioning office in their Fort Lauderdale home, we focused on how the room would interplay with the rest of the house,” says designer Meredith Marlow. “Instead of a wall, we closed off the space with glass, which visually expanded the main entry and set the entire tone of the residence. Natural light from double height windows allowed us to incorporate a rich, dark saturated green on the walls, as well as rich textures that unify all the spaces.”

This 6,399-square-foot house in Boca Raton belongs to two surgeons who love to travel. And it needed a facelift in order to truly feel like a home that reflected their tastes, lifestyle and shared memories. So Laure Nell Interiors came on board to remodel and modernize their kitchen and dining room, create a dedicated office nook, and design an inviting mudroom clad in encaustic ceramic tile that greets the owners when they come home after a busy day at work. The owners wanted a streamlined, European-inspired kitchen with Scandinavian, minimalist details where the stone-wrapped hood would be the hero. But it would also need to function for the wife who likes to bake often with their younger daughter. We created an integrated bar to house the owners’ beloved collection of Barollo wines from Italy, and custom shelving that displays their Murano glass pieces along with ceramics that were also brought back from Europe. A creamy palette of white quartz with minimal veining provided a canvas for custom sandy-hued cabinetry—each door panel hand painted in a custom finish that preserves the natural variations of the wood. Taupe dining chairs harmonize with the color scheme, contrasted with pops of caramel from Demvel’s custom leather cabinet handles and leather seat in the mudroom, and barstools from Design Within Reach. This office space was long and narrow so we added an additional 2 chairs and a side table to take away from how long it was. and to fill the space. More seating is always a bonus in an office specially if you have a home business. The zebra rug really just nailed it!

A 4500 SF Lakeshore Drive vintage condo gets updated for a busy entrepreneurial family who made their way back to Chicago. Brazilian design meets mid-century, meets midwestern sophistication. Each room features custom millwork and a mix of custom and vintage furniture. Every space has a different feel and purpose creating zones within this whole floor condo. Edgy luxury with lots of layers make the space feel comfortable and collected.

This tiny room was basically a big hallway to the laundry room. Now it boasts a small office area and a nice sized pantry. What better a place to gaze out the window to the lovely backyard while catching up on a little business.

The two-story Dogwood plan offers lots of room to spread out, with a study or optional guest suite on the first floor and a master suite plus two bedrooms and loft on the second floor. The flex room off the entry can serve as an office or formal living or dining room, with options for both trey and coffered ceilings. The kitchen includes a step-in pantry and island with raised bar top, opening to the large central Family Room. The study can also also be configured as a first floor guest suite with full bath, and a bay window is an available option. The hall from the garage offers semi-private access to the study/guest suite area, and an optional drop zone can keep busy families organized.

This first floor remodel included the kitchen, powder room, mudroom, laundry room, living room and office. The bright, white kitchen is accented by gray-blue island with seating for four. The watery blue tones that you can bring indoors, can be almost as spectacular as the real thing. This office is now colourful, relaxed and fresh. The inspiration for this room was the clients canvas artwork previously purchased, we pulled some colours from it such as the paint colour on the wall OC-26 Silver Satin and feature wall 2052-40 Blue Spa.
