Terraza Tarango is a project that arose as a result of the confinement of 2020, where people began to look for unusual corners of their house to be or wanting to give life to the residual spaces. This project was born on a roof where the home's gas tank used to be.
A few steps from the main bedroom, the space was designed to sunbathe and watch the sunset, since it is oriented to the East. Being in a temperate type of climate, in the morning it is cool, and as the day goes by it gets warmer.
With the vegetation, the flora was located, which attracted pollinating insects, a microclimate, and both aromatic and edible planters were created.
The selected vegetation was the following; Gardenias, Dwarf Orange (Kumquat), Clivia Miniata, Agapanthus, Pennisetum, Filicopsida Ferns, Lantana Camara, Daisies, and finally Durantas.
Likewise, a great job of indirect lighting was done, to achieve a subdued and warm atmosphere at night, making sure not to affect the circadian cycle of the plants.
The water management was designed in such a way that the drain went into a lower garden.

Rustic yet refined, this modern country retreat blends old and new in masterful ways, creating a fresh yet timeless experience. The structured, austere exterior gives way to an inviting interior. The palette of subdued greens, sunny yellows, and watery blues draws inspiration from nature. Whether in the upholstery or on the walls, trailing blooms lend a note of softness throughout. The dark teal kitchen receives an injection of light from a thoughtfully-appointed skylight; a dining room with vaulted ceilings and bead board walls add a rustic feel. The wall treatment continues through the main floor to the living room, highlighted by a large and inviting limestone fireplace that gives the relaxed room a note of grandeur. Turquoise subway tiles elevate the laundry room from utilitarian to charming. Flanked by large windows, the home is abound with natural vistas. Antlers, antique framed mirrors and plaid trim accentuates the high ceilings. Hand scraped wood flooring from Schotten & Hansen line the wide corridors and provide the ideal space for lounging.

Choosing to abandon uniformity in your kitchen can be a great choice if you're looking to opt out of a monochrome aesthetic. Two-toned kitchen cabinets add visual interest and contrast while drawing focus to different features within the space. Designs utilizing two-toned cabinets have become very popular in recent years and it's not a trend that will be fading out any time soon.
Our clients opted for a combination of Earl Grey and Macchiato Classic cabinetry in their two-toned kitchen. The large island with its second faucet, sink, microwave drawer and lower storage is the focal point of the room and a great work surface for food prep and entertaining. A vertical pull out PowerDock was installed into the top of the island for plugging in kitchen tools, phones and laptops. Dolomite Marble subway tile and Brunello quartz countertops brighten up the kitchen and balance out the tone of the cabinets creating a light and airy feel. The addition of contrasting touches such as the Honey Bronze, Flat Black hardware and Champaign Bronze faucets, accessories the room beautifully. The subdued and sophisticated style of this two-toned kitchen is exquisite and shows the various ways that two-tone cabinets can be versatile and appealing.
Some of the other areas that were remodeled in this home included the complete overhaul of the existing stair well, a guest bath and laundry area.
The guest bath has beautiful vanity cabinets in Celest finish, Monochrome Lotus Deco tile and very reflective Midnight Dots in the shower floor and niche. The combination of all three give a striking white, blue and black design that will inspire and show that you can use pattern and texture in small spaces. A twenty four inch wall mounted shower seat can be lifted and secured when in use and tucked away to allow access out of the shower. A pocket door from the guest bathroom provides a second access point to the hallway with the laundry that has also been revamped with the same style and finish of cabinetry.

In this home remodel project, we worked together with our clients to create a modern coastal home design that incorporates natural elements with clean lines and functionality. The home now features an open space layout that exudes simplicity and formality, while also being casually elegant and relaxed.
The home already had the foundation of a modern coastal home, however, there were some things that needed to be removed, such as a wall dividing the living room and the kitchen, and things that needed to be updated, such as the floors and the cabinetry.
Overall, the remodeled home is all about being fresh, put-together, and welcoming. The subdued color palette is mostly composed of creamy whites, neutral browns, and subtle grays, with a pop of blue here and there to tie the whole modern coastal look together. The bare walls and ceilings, and the crisp and clean lines, make the space airy and contemporary. Meanwhile, traditional wood elements and a few bohemian decors acting as accent pieces infuse a cozy feeling to the space.

Pillows are a versatile and impactful way to inject a pop of color into a neutral space. By introducing vibrant hues and patterns, they create focal points that draw the eye and enliven the atmosphere. Whether it's a sunny orange or a playful green, colorful pillows can transform an otherwise subdued setting into a lively and inviting environment. Their placement on sofas, chairs, or beds adds layers of texture and visual interest, allowing for easy updates to the decor without a complete overhaul. This simple addition can renew the space, making it feel fresh and personalized while maintaining the serene backdrop of neutral tones.

THE SETUP
Originally an empty front living room, this space offered a blank canvas for transformation. Alicia’s client — a financial wealth management professional facing a career shift towards more home-based work — was excited to make it her new office. Capitalizing on the space’s abundant natural light, perfect for on-camera meetings, Alicia helped convert the area into a primary workspace.
Design Objectives:
- Create a functional and professional home office
Cultivate an aesthetic that is both comfortable and feminine
- Optimize the office for the space’s ideal lighting and provide an appealing background for virtual meetings
Design Challenges:
- Transforming a large, undefined space into a structured, functional office
- Selecting a color palette that enhances focus and professionalism, balanced with a feminine touch
- Strategically placing the desk to maximize functionality and aesthetics within the large area
Incorporating solutions for effective real-time stock trade tracking and analog task management
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design Solutions:
Workspace Configuration: Centered the desk to utilize indirect light, ideal for video calls, while providing a commanding view of the office, the outdoors and the entrance. A floor-installed power outlet under the desk ensures a clean, cord-free setup.
Aesthetic and Palette: Anchored by a striking wallpaper chosen by the client, Alicia developed a soft, neutral color scheme that complements the room’s black window frames and maintains a feminine touch.
Digital Integration: Included a screen dedicated to monitoring daily stock trends, positioned for easy viewing. The energy efficient monitor doubles as artwork when not in use, seamlessly blending functionality with style.
Organizational Features: Implemented dual large bulletin boards for task and project tracking, integrating them aesthetically with custom cabinetry and interesting, yet subdued, fabric backing.
Our client is thrilled with her new home office, which not only meets her professional needs but also adds comfort and style to her daily work routine. The space is highly functional for both solo work and client appointments, providing a perfect blend of business professionalism and personal comfort. It embodies the essence of a #girlboss, combining a professional atmosphere with feminine elegance, making every workday enjoyable and productive.

Everything you need to feel right at home. The grey and white colour scheme adds subdued elegance to the intricately designed island and classic shaker style cabinets. The subway tile backsplash offsets the black bordered glass front cabinets, which combine with the hanging pendants above the island to create a soft glow. The apron sink, hood fan and range, inset wine rack, and fridge tower add a modern flair to the traditional design of this space.

For this HouseHome project, we transformed the main floor of a classic 1940s home into a luxury living space that balances historical integrity with contemporary refinement.
The renovation emphasizes ornate detailing and timeless architectural elements, celebrating the precision and craftsmanship of mid-century design while introducing modern functionality. The design aesthetic is rooted in discipline, subtlety, and quality, using a subdued color palette that enhances the home’s architectural features and highlights the care put into every detail.
Custom fine millwork and meticulously crafted trim elevate the spaces, adding depth, elegance, and a sense of permanence that only true artisanal work can achieve. This luxury main floor renovation in Colorado demonstrates HouseHome’s signature approach: blending historical inspiration, refined materials, and thoughtful design to create spaces that feel sophisticated, intentional, and timeless.
Every element—from layout to finishes—reflects a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and enduring beauty...just the way the client likes it, and what we love to deliver at HouseHome.

The client’s brief was to create a space reminiscent of their beloved downtown Chicago industrial loft, in a rural farm setting, while incorporating their unique collection of vintage and architectural salvage. The result is a custom designed space that blends life on the farm with an industrial sensibility.
The new house is located on approximately the same footprint as the original farm house on the property. Barely visible from the road due to the protection of conifer trees and a long driveway, the house sits on the edge of a field with views of the neighbouring 60 acre farm and creek that runs along the length of the property.
The main level open living space is conceived as a transparent social hub for viewing the landscape. Large sliding glass doors create strong visual connections with an adjacent barn on one end and a mature black walnut tree on the other.
The house is situated to optimize views, while at the same time protecting occupants from blazing summer sun and stiff winter winds. The wall to wall sliding doors on the south side of the main living space provide expansive views to the creek, and allow for breezes to flow throughout. The wrap around aluminum louvered sun shade tempers the sun.
The subdued exterior material palette is defined by horizontal wood siding, standing seam metal roofing and large format polished concrete blocks.
The interiors were driven by the owners’ desire to have a home that would properly feature their unique vintage collection, and yet have a modern open layout. Polished concrete floors and steel beams on the main level set the industrial tone and are paired with a stainless steel island counter top, backsplash and industrial range hood in the kitchen. An old drinking fountain is built-in to the mudroom millwork, carefully restored bi-parting doors frame the library entrance, and a vibrant antique stained glass panel is set into the foyer wall allowing diffused coloured light to spill into the hallway. Upstairs, refurbished claw foot tubs are situated to view the landscape.
The double height library with mezzanine serves as a prominent feature and quiet retreat for the residents. The white oak millwork exquisitely displays the homeowners’ vast collection of books and manuscripts. The material palette is complemented by steel counter tops, stainless steel ladder hardware and matte black metal mezzanine guards. The stairs carry the same language, with white oak open risers and stainless steel woven wire mesh panels set into a matte black steel frame.
The overall effect is a truly sublime blend of an industrial modern aesthetic punctuated by personal elements of the owners’ storied life.

We took a builder basic home and did what others said could not be done. We removed a structural wall that divided the family room -dining area with the living room. Moved the kitchen from its original layout to face the backyard with a view the whole family could enjoy. We focus on clean, simple lines, minimalism, and functionality without sacrificing beauty. White walls, wood floors, modern furniture, and minimalist decor are all hallmark traits of a California aesthetic.
A lot of cost were invested into changing the structure so we keep the materials simple, but we were still able to add wood features in the home like the island, the warm toned light fixture centered over the island adds depth to this personal home.

2 Infiniti wall lamps by Davide Groppi were used in the living room to give indirect soft subdued lighting, together with 2 Sampei floor lamps to project direct light on the floor. Iron mesh red statues with LED bulbs are hanging from an iron beam. Natural light comes in by the large loft-like windows and glass made entrance door.

This apartment kitchen is emblematic of Dan Kitchen Australia's design style: clean-edged, thoughtfully laid out and well appointed with luxurious materials and high-end appliances. A subdued colour palette allows the real hero of the space to shine - jaw-dropping vistas of Sydney Harbour.
