Objective: With adult children, large families, and a growing number of grandchildren, creating a
serene, calm and elegant space was needed.
Solution: White and gold palette, mirror, soft leather, plush carpet, elegant wallpaper, antique
chandelier, all combined created a collected, yet subdued space to set away from all the chaos of a busy
home. Large windows, white trim, a high gloss painted ceiling, custom art piece, a re-purposed dresser-
again all textured elements that layered together softness and elegance.

The wall treatment continues through the main floor to the living room, highlighted by a large and inviting limestone fireplace that gives the relaxed room a note of grandeur. Turquoise subway tiles elevate the laundry room from utilitarian to charming. Flanked by large windows, the home is abound with natural vistas. Everything you need to feel right at home. The grey and white colour scheme adds subdued elegance to the intricately designed island and classic shaker style cabinets. The subway tile backsplash offsets the black bordered glass front cabinets, which combine with the hanging pendants above the island to create a soft glow. This Chicago kitchen renovation defines modern sophistication with its custom built-ins, subdued color palette for cabinetry and contemporary fixtures. The LED lit built-in display shelves provide a dramatic focal point while the veined Bianco Seta marble countertops and backsplashes contrast nicely with the midnight blue handcrafted cabinetry.
The built-in bar cabinetry has a matching quartzite backsplash, dramatic lighting for each shelf and is conveniently located between the kitchen and dining space. The contemporary light fixtures provide a clean sleek look in this Chicago kitchen renovation with little obstruction to its sightline.

The client’s brief was to create a space reminiscent of their beloved downtown Chicago industrial loft, in a rural farm setting, while incorporating their unique collection of vintage and architectural salvage. The result is a custom designed space that blends life on the farm with an industrial sensibility.
The new house is located on approximately the same footprint as the original farm house on the property. Barely visible from the road due to the protection of conifer trees and a long driveway, the house sits on the edge of a field with views of the neighbouring 60 acre farm and creek that runs along the length of the property.
The main level open living space is conceived as a transparent social hub for viewing the landscape. Large sliding glass doors create strong visual connections with an adjacent barn on one end and a mature black walnut tree on the other.
The house is situated to optimize views, while at the same time protecting occupants from blazing summer sun and stiff winter winds. The wall to wall sliding doors on the south side of the main living space provide expansive views to the creek, and allow for breezes to flow throughout. The wrap around aluminum louvered sun shade tempers the sun.
The subdued exterior material palette is defined by horizontal wood siding, standing seam metal roofing and large format polished concrete blocks.
The interiors were driven by the owners’ desire to have a home that would properly feature their unique vintage collection, and yet have a modern open layout. Polished concrete floors and steel beams on the main level set the industrial tone and are paired with a stainless steel island counter top, backsplash and industrial range hood in the kitchen. An old drinking fountain is built-in to the mudroom millwork, carefully restored bi-parting doors frame the library entrance, and a vibrant antique stained glass panel is set into the foyer wall allowing diffused coloured light to spill into the hallway. Upstairs, refurbished claw foot tubs are situated to view the landscape.
The double height library with mezzanine serves as a prominent feature and quiet retreat for the residents. The white oak millwork exquisitely displays the homeowners’ vast collection of books and manuscripts. The material palette is complemented by steel counter tops, stainless steel ladder hardware and matte black metal mezzanine guards. The stairs carry the same language, with white oak open risers and stainless steel woven wire mesh panels set into a matte black steel frame.
The overall effect is a truly sublime blend of an industrial modern aesthetic punctuated by personal elements of the owners’ storied life.

Modern meets traditional - texture and a subdued palette modernize this traditional french influenced space. Complementary modern artwork further pushes the style into a cleaner more updated look.

The interior palette draws from the curated exteriors by employing a palette of primarily Basaltino stone and timber. The use of a restrained material palette with an emphasis on textures is a key element in the interior scheme as well. Common to both the lift and staircase foyer, and internal corridors, an elegant false ceiling in timber adds an element of detail while also working to conceal the required services. The choice of material, coupled with a subdued colour palette, gives the home a calm and pared-back aesthetic.

This classic white kitchen was done using flush inset cabinetry in an alabaster finish. Features include soft close on all doors and drawers, appliance panels, a double trash pull out, and internal roll outs. All appliances are Sub-Zero and Wolf.

2 Infiniti wall lamps by Davide Groppi were used in the living room to give indirect soft subdued lighting, together with 2 Sampei floor lamps to project direct light on the floor. Iron mesh red statues with LED bulbs are hanging from an iron beam. Natural light comes in by the large loft-like windows and glass made entrance door.

Shaker-style cabinets are known for their straight, clean lines, which contribute to their timeless appeal.
Shaker style cabinets are incredibly versatile and can be adapted to various design aesthetics. For a modern look, pair them with sleek, minimalist hardware, and choose a neutral color palette to achieve a clean and contemporary kitchen. To create a farmhouse ambiance, opt for Shaker cabinets with a distressed finish and combine them with rustic elements like wooden countertops and open shelving. For a traditional design, stick to classic Shaker cabinet profiles and elegant detailing, enhancing the timeless appeal. Lastly, to achieve a minimalist design, select Shaker cabinets in a simple, unadorned style, and keep the color palette subdued for a clean and uncluttered space. Shaker style cabinets offer the flexibility to seamlessly integrate into a variety of design styles, making them a versatile choice for any kitchen.
Using a kitchen island that features a different color than the rest of the cabinets can be a brilliant design choice to add a touch of flair and personality to your kitchen space. This striking contrast not only creates visual interest but also serves as a focal point, breaking up the monotony of uniform cabinetry. Whether you opt for a bold, contrasting hue to make a statement or a complementary shade to enhance the overall aesthetics, the different-colored island becomes an inviting centerpiece where family and friends can gather, cook, and socialize. It's a design strategy that adds vibrancy and character, transforming your kitchen into a stylish and inviting culinary haven.

Choosing to abandon uniformity in your kitchen can be a great choice if you're looking to opt out of a monochrome aesthetic. Two-toned kitchen cabinets add visual interest and contrast while drawing focus to different features within the space. Designs utilizing two-toned cabinets have become very popular in recent years and it's not a trend that will be fading out any time soon.
Our clients opted for a combination of Earl Grey and Macchiato Classic cabinetry in their two-toned kitchen. The large island with its second faucet, sink, microwave drawer and lower storage is the focal point of the room and a great work surface for food prep and entertaining. A vertical pull out PowerDock was installed into the top of the island for plugging in kitchen tools, phones and laptops. Dolomite Marble subway tile and Brunello quartz countertops brighten up the kitchen and balance out the tone of the cabinets creating a light and airy feel. The addition of contrasting touches such as the Honey Bronze, Flat Black hardware and Champaign Bronze faucets, accessories the room beautifully. The subdued and sophisticated style of this two-toned kitchen is exquisite and shows the various ways that two-tone cabinets can be versatile and appealing.
Some of the other areas that were remodeled in this home included the complete overhaul of the existing stair well, a guest bath and laundry area.
The guest bath has beautiful vanity cabinets in Celest finish, Monochrome Lotus Deco tile and very reflective Midnight Dots in the shower floor and niche. The combination of all three give a striking white, blue and black design that will inspire and show that you can use pattern and texture in small spaces. A twenty four inch wall mounted shower seat can be lifted and secured when in use and tucked away to allow access out of the shower. A pocket door from the guest bathroom provides a second access point to the hallway with the laundry that has also been revamped with the same style and finish of cabinetry.

We used cool tones of blue and gray for this client's serene basement renovation project paired with subdued coastal accents.
One of our main goals for this project was to transform our client's office space complete with a soft blue and gray accent wall, flat roman window treatment, and walnut floating shelves; as well as subtle gold accents in both the artwork and hardware on this gorgeous custom desk.

These clients saw a clogged shower as an opportunity for a full primary bath re-design. We were thrilled to collaborate on their vision of a sage green color scheme and their need for more storage while still maintaining the original floor plan. Extending a ¾ wall in the shower meant we could run the vertically stacked sage green tile all the way to the ceiling. Chrome shower fixtures were taken out and pipes relocated; an oversize niche was added in tile to match the shower floor. Swapping out the shower door for a modern sliding one saved on space and allows one to focus on the whimsical new acoustic tile we installed on the floor; our clients loved this tile so much they used it again in the kids bathroom! Painting the existing vanity a darker green and replacing the hardware in a subdued brushed nickel balanced out the playful tile. Additional wall storage was added in the form of a glass front arched cabinet, and pill topped robe hooks complete the overall look of this primary en suite bath.
