Full renovation for this Primary Bathroom. Re-worked the floor plan to create a larger walk-in shower space with custom glass enclosure. Designed a custom wooden vanity with plenty of storage, with a subtly veined quartz countertop. Free standing bathtub is surrounded by a half wall of paneling, painted in a light and bright color scheme. Neutral tile installed on bathroom floor and shower walls, with a coordinating penny tile on the shower floor and niches. Textured bamboo roman shades and floating shelves were installed for contrast and mixed and matched black and gold hardware for detail.

The new owners opted to replace the aging, historically inappropriate vinyl siding on this Wicker Park single family home with double-dipped McNear “Limehouse" thin brick. Believe it or not, there's a red brick under those two coats of limewash!
Initially, these easy-going homeowners sought out a pure white brick, but ended up using this rustic alternative instead. Notes of the red brick subtly peek through the lime, giving the residence an old world flavor. These bricks were attached using Glen Gery ThinTech panels, and will be sealed soon to protect the wash and allow for easy maintenance. Contrary to popular belief, siding is actually more expensive to take care of over time than masonry!
A special shoutout goes to woman-owned business D. Jones Construction, whose interest in learning all about this unique product before install was welcomed and appreciated!

This mid-century mountain modern home was originally designed in the early 1950s. The house has ample windows that provide dramatic views of the adjacent lake and surrounding woods. The current owners wanted to only enhance the home subtly, not alter its original character. The majority of exterior and interior materials were preserved, while the plan was updated with an enhanced kitchen and master suite. Added daylight to the kitchen was provided by the installation of a new operable skylight. New large format porcelain tile and walnut cabinets in the master suite provided a counterpoint to the primarily painted interior with brick floors.

In the great room, a striking stone fireplace anchors the space as its focal point. Above it, a storied, a floating reclaimed wood mantel adds warmth and character, offering a rich contrast to the room’s modern lines. The sectional sofa—each seat motorized for personalized comfort—is upholstered in performance fabric, making it as practical as it is inviting.
For light control, a dual set of motorized shades was installed: blackout for glare-free daytime TV viewing, and light-filtering to bathe the room in soft, natural light. Rich crown molding carries gracefully over the built-in bookcases, while substantial base molding frames the new hardwood floors. A custom area rug both warms the space and subtly defines the seating area, completing the balance of timeless tradition and modern ease.
