We gave this newly-built weekend home in New London, New Hampshire a colorful and contemporary interior style. The successful result of a partnership with Smart Architecture, Grace Hill Construction and Terri Wilcox Gardens, we translated the contemporary-style architecture into modern, yet comfortable interiors for a Massachusetts family. Creating a lake home designed for gatherings of extended family and friends that will produce wonderful memories for many years to come.

The original cabinets were retained, while receiving a new coat of paint. The island was reworked to change the shape of the top - making it more square - while making the countertop material an exotic hardware and adding turned legs for support and detail. A new chandelier is over a small bay window space that is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee in!

From a dark depressing kitchen to a light and airy delight, this kitchen transformation is the success of an artistic team of client and designer. The transition to a farmhouse style kitchen is exactly what this home needed, with painted cabinetry, open industrial-looking shelving, and a custom hood made of authentic barnwood.

Fitch’s kitchen backsplash features Polycor’s 1 cm Ultra-Thin White Cherokee marble slabs as the main focal point. Fitch worked with the architects at Bercy Chen Studio and Austin-based Empire Fabricators to design and install a bookmatched backsplash and thin profile countertop using that ultra thin stone in a honed finish. This kitchen features Fieldstone Custom Cabinetry in the Stratford door style with a clean white finish. There are stacked cabinets that reach the tray ceiling with clear glass fronts ion the upper level. The backsplash features the 3x6 ceramic subway tile in Grigio from Cancos' Whisper line. Kohler fixtures were used, including the Whitehaven apron front sink and the Artifacts kitchen & prep faucets. A filtered hot-cold water dispenser from Insinkerator was also chosed to complement the faucets. Hardware, including cup pulls, is from Top Knobs' Somerset Weston line in Antique Pewter. The Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Basko appliances were paneled and installed with the flush-inset approach, to keep a streamlined look with the cabinets. A rectangular island includes a prep sink and double-ogee edge treatment on Silestone's Cygnus color. The decorative wood hood from Stanici delivers a focal point with beautiful curved lines, found also above & below the refrigerator and the shape of the cup pulls.
