This home is in Noe Valley, a highly desirable and growing neighborhood of San Francisco. As young highly-educated families move into the area, we are remodeling and adding on to the aging homes found there. This project remodeled the entire existing two story house and added a third level, capturing the incredible views toward downtown. The design features integral color stucco, zinc roofing, an International Orange staircase, eco-teak cabinets and concrete counters. A flowing sequence of spaces were choreographed from the entry through to the family room.

Clients who enlisted my services two years ago found a new home they loved, but wanted to make sure that the newly acquired furniture would fit the space. The owners of this stately Adams Morgan rowhouse wanted to reconfigure rooms on the two upper levels to create a primary suite on the third floor and a better layout for the second floor. Our crews fully gutted and reframed the floors and walls of the front rooms, taking the opportunity of open walls to increase energy-efficiency with spray foam insulation at exposed exterior walls. The original third floor bedroom was open to the hallway and had an outdated, odd-shaped bathroom. We reframed the walls to create a suite with a master bedroom, closet and generous bath with a freestanding tub and shower. Double doors open from the bedroom to the closet, and another set of double doors lead to the bathroom. The classic black and white theme continues in this room.

Forget just one room with a view—Lochley has almost an entire house dedicated to capturing nature’s best views and vistas. Designed and built in conjunction with Freemont #2, this home pays homage to surrounding architecture, including that of St. James Lutheran Church.
