Spectacular Rustic/Modern Basement Renovation - The large unfinished basement of this beautiful custom home was transformed into a rustic family retreat. The new space has something for everyone and adds over 1800 sq. feet of living space with something for the whole family. The walkout basement has plenty of natural light and offers several places to gather, play games, or get away. A home office and full bathroom add function and convenience for the homeowners and their guests. A two-sided stone fireplace helps to define and divide the large room as well as to warm the atmosphere and the Michigan winter nights. The undeniable pinnacle of this remodel is the custom, old-world inspired bar made of massive timber beams and 100 year-old reclaimed barn wood that we were able to salvage from the iconic Milford Shutter Shop. The Barrel vaulted, tongue and groove ceiling add to the authentic look and feel the owners desired. Brookhaven, Knotty Alder cabinets and display shelving, black honed granite countertops, Black River Ledge cultured stone accents, custom Speake-easy door with wrought iron details, and glass pendant lighting with vintage Edison bulbs together send guests back in time to a rustic saloon of yesteryear. The high-tech additions of high-def. flat screen TV and recessed LED accent light are the hint that this is a contemporary project. About five years ago, these homeowners saw the potential in a brick-and-oak-heavy, wallpaper-bedecked, 1990s-in-all-the-wrong-ways home tucked in a wooded patch among fields somewhere between Indianapolis and Bloomington. Their first project with SYH was a kitchen remodel, a total overhaul completed by JL Benton Contracting, that added color and function for this family of three (not counting the cats). A couple years later, they were knocking on our door again to strip the ensuite bedroom of its ruffled valences and red carpet—a bold choice that ran right into the bathroom (!)—and make it a serene retreat. Color and function proved the goals yet again, and JL Benton was back to make the design reality. The clients thoughtfully chose to maximize their budget in order to get a whole lot of bells and whistles—details that undeniably change their daily experience of the space. The fantastic zero-entry shower is composed of handmade tile from Heath Ceramics of California. A window where the was none, a handsome teak bench, thoughtful niches, and Kohler fixtures in vibrant brushed nickel finish complete the shower. Custom mirrors and cabinetry by Stoll’s Woodworking, in both the bathroom and closet, elevate the whole design. What you don't see: heated floors, which everybody needs in Indiana.

This elegant elliptical staircase harmonizes beautifully with the home's eclectic architectural style, which blends Georgian, Gothic, Federalist, and Victorian Vernacular elements. The graceful curve of the stairs echoes the refined character of these classic designs, while the dark wood treads and handrail create striking contrast against the crisp white newels, balusters, and risers. The result is a statement piece with undeniable grandeur, as integral to the home's identity as the kitchen or living room.

The most compact opening system from MilcasaStore has a self-explanatory name - COMPACK.
Interior doors are equipped with a pivoting and sliding mechanism that simultaneously solves 2 problems - saving space and creating a modern interior. When opened, each door leaf is folded in half and placed along the wall, occupying an area 2 times less than its own surface. This is convenient when furniture and decor items are located close to the opening.
Its undeniable advantages:
☑️ in the closed position does not lose sound insulation
☑️ does not reduce the light opening
☑️ moves smoothly and silently
☑️takes up 2 times less space in comparison with a conventional door

The Iver dining table offers homage to classic farm table design, with a modern twist. Softly angled table corners, exposed steel hardware and the undeniable warmth of reclaimed pine come together to create a contemporary version of the familiar family-style table. This dining table features a wire-brushed texture that's hand-finished and a cool and calming grey stain that complements Iver's inviting design.

This stylish Bonney Lake kitchen blends classic farmhouse warmth with bold, modern charm. Crisp white upper cabinets contrast beautifully against deep navy lowers and island base, creating a striking two-tone palette. The quartz countertops and soft gray subway tile backsplash enhance the airy ambiance, while the patterned mosaic behind the range and bar adds just the right pop of personality. Black hardware and fixtures add contrast, and the pendant lights above the island bring a cozy glow to the space. It’s a fresh take on timeless design—functional, refined, and undeniably inviting.

https://pipafineart.com/pages/after-the-rain-gerbera-daisy-realism-painting-digital-artwork-prints-and-digital-backgrounds. This striking digitally created photorealistic artwork captures the vibrant essence of a red gerbera daisy, freshly kissed by rain. The central focus is undeniably the flower itself, presented in a captivating close-up that highlights its intricate details. Each vivid red petal is adorned with countless shimmering water droplets, catching the light in a way that suggests recent precipitation and infuses the image with a sense of vitality and freshness. The rich, almost fiery red of the petals is beautifully contrasted by the subtly textured, darker hues within the daisy's center, which hints at deeper purples and maroons, adding depth and visual interest. The background is thoughtfully rendered in a soft, dark blur, allowing the brilliant red of the daisy and the crystalline sparkle of the raindrops to truly pop and command attention. It creates a dreamlike, almost ethereal quality, ensuring the flower remains the undisputed star of this botanical tableau. The level of detail achieved here is truly remarkable, mimicking the realism of a high-resolution photograph while retaining the controlled artistry of a digital creation.

This captivating artwork offers incredible versatility for various interior spaces and decorating styles. In a modern or contemporary living room, its bold color and crisp details would serve as a dynamic focal point against minimalist furniture and neutral palettes, injecting a vibrant burst of life. Imagine it above a sleek, low-profile sofa, bringing an unexpected organic element to a clean-lined aesthetic. For a transitional space, which blends traditional warmth with modern simplicity, this piece would seamlessly integrate, offering both classic floral appeal and a fresh, updated feel. It could perfectly complement a mix of comfortable seating and clean-lined accessories. In a maximalist design scheme, where layers of pattern and color are embraced, this artwork could contribute another rich layer, perhaps contrasting with an ornate wallpaper or complementing other botanical prints.

Walking into this reimagined primary bath feels like stepping into a boutique spa. The entire space is wrapped in a soft, barely-there blush-white wall color that reads almost like warm light itself, creating an instantly calming atmosphere that the design then builds upon thoughtfully.
Twin sage blue-gray vanities run along both sides of the room, each finished in a shaker-style painted cabinetry with polished chrome bar pulls and topped with a gorgeous Calacatta-style quartz — the same material flowing seamlessly across countertops and up as a low backsplash. Above each vanity hang individual black rounded-rectangle mirrors with matching chrome picture-light sconces, creating a clean, modern hotel-bath aesthetic that feels crisp without being cold.
The walk-in shower is the undeniable heart of the room — a generous double-entry wet room featuring dual rainfall showerheads, dual handheld wand fixtures, and a natural light source through a privacy glass window that floods the space with soft, diffused daylight. Large format white wall tile set in a simple grid pattern keeps the shower feeling expansive and serene, while large-format Calacatta marble-look porcelain tile on the floor carries the quartz veining language from the vanities underfoot throughout the entire bathroom. A polished chrome heated towel rack mounted on the bathroom wall adds a luxurious, spa-grade detail — warm towels waiting after every shower. A teak wood bath mat on the floor completes the spa atmosphere perfectly.
The Laundry Room
Just steps away, the laundry room received an equally remarkable transformation — one that proves this hardworking space can be just as design-forward as any other room in the house. Deep hunter green painted cabinetry with brushed brass bar pulls commands the room from floor to ceiling, creating a rich, dramatic palette that feels collected and intentional rather than builder-grade.
Upper shaker-style cabinets maximize storage above the machines, while a tall pantry-style column cabinet on the end wall provides floor-to-ceiling concealed storage for supplies. A painted shiplap accent panel between the upper cabinets and the counter is fitted with a row of brass coat hooks — a dual-purpose detail that adds texture and hang space for bags and reusable totes. The counter surface in white quartz sits above the side-by-side front-load washer and dryer, creating a functional folding station. A white square tile backsplash behind the machines adds a clean, easy-care surface that holds its own against the bold green cabinetry. A built-in wood bench with open storage below creates a secondary mudroom function, while a warm-toned live-edge wood floating shelf adds organic contrast. A custom built walnut open bookcase tucked at the room's end provides stylish overflow storage that gives the space personality beyond its utility.

In this project the home owner was a furniture importer, so she had an amazing array of decorative elements to add to the design. After spending years traveling through Indonesia and India on buying trips, she wanted a taste of the tropics in her own back yard. We worked together to incorporate her beautiful objects into an undeniably tropical-feeling space. By carefully selecting plants and their placement, we were able to achieve the lush green feel of Bali or Hawaii in the Southern California climate without using a lot of water. After installation, this oasis is alive with birds and dragonflies. Lush green plantings create microclimates around the house that help cool the property on hot days. Integrating edible trees provides the homeowner with pomegranates, several types of guavas, lemons, limes, and bananas. Today, the homeowner rents out her home and garden for photo shoots and weddings.

One of our luxury patio covers takes place in the city of San Marcos, California (North County region of San Diego). Our realization is a beautiful adjustable patio cover attached at home. In perfect harmony with the home environment, patio cover undeniably adds a touch of elegance and sophistication.

This collaboration was with a return client, who wanted to completely restore and renovate her over 100-year-old Victorian. It was key for the homeowner maintained the original footprint of the home with full front to back views of the sound. A contemporary vision translated into slab doors in a navy high-gloss finish for the island and smoky white for the perimeter and upper cabinetry. Simple, satin nickel contemporary hardware reiterates the linear elements throughout. Interior detailing features rich walnut to complement the herringbone floors. The custom hood is hammered stainless steel to play off the plinth block island legs. The undeniable focal point is the stunning Calacatta Corchia marble selected for the countertops and full-height backsplash and walls. The lighting is a unique, suspended adjustable LED fixture. The twin side-by-side Sub-Zero Pro Fridge/Freezer columns include a glass front to highlight interior storage. The Wolf 60" range with pro handles features 2 30" full-size ovens, 6 burners, and a double griddle. The retractable doors in the wet bar cleverly close to hide the sink and bottle storage. The many windows bring lots of light into the space to make it a warm and inviting place to entertain friends and family.

Enhancing the floors with a sophisticated grey wood-like tile, coupled with plush carpeting in the bedrooms, truly elevates this home to a new level. And of course, the kitchen's white quartz countertops are an undeniable touch of elegance.
