A newly purchased single family home on a quiet street in Noe Valley undergoes a significant transformation to enlarge, reconfigure and renovate it to suit the needs of the new owners. This includes a rear yard addition on three levels, to effectively double the size of the existing home. The renovation respected the understated Victorian / Edwardian detailing, while incorporating a more modern aesthetic focused on natural light and indoor-outdoor living into the new spaces.

This carpet was hand knotted in northern Afghanistan by Turkmen women using handspun Ghazni wool. This lovely design is inspired by an original Mughal carpet from Agra in northern India. The more you examine this enchanting piece, the more you appreciate the beauty and thought that went into creating this work of art. After the weaving is completed, the rug undergoes a rigorous antiquing process. This type of carpet can easily take up to a year to produce, and ultimately culminates into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, luxe carpet.

Do you love revamping and redecorating your living spaces?
We do too. It’s all the upgrades, big and small, that make a space perfect for you. A fresh coat of paint, a new piece of furniture, a new plant -- small changes or upgrades result in beautiful and bright transformations. We view it as a continuous process that keeps an environment organized, energetic and fresh. The abarnai Home & Studio is the focal point of this philosophy; it is continually undergoing upgrades, small and big, as the seasons change, our inspirations are sparked, and our styles change.

Our client was looking to change things up with the aesthetics of their home. Rather then going with shades or blinds, these homeowners wanted to add shutters to their glass patio doors.

After a water leak had gone undetected, these homeowners had to undergo a primary bathroom remodel in their Mid-Century Modern home. Not being fans of the traditional style, we set out to create a space that would fit within the home's architecture while still resonating with the homeowner's taste.
Simple, soft blue vanities, topped with white quartz, allow the clean, polished nickel fixtures to shine. Large format porcelain tile was used on the shower walls, while a smaller hex-tile added subtle interest on the shower floor. The freestanding bathtub and tub filler feel like a quiet luxury nestled by the window, overlooking nature.
The original, natural wood ceiling was retained, inspiring the muted, calm color palette.

We recently had a client reach out to us to fabricate custom residential railings based on one of the designs in our railing gallery. The home was undergoing major renovation and once the floors were in and complete we came in to do our measurements. Please keep in mind that these final measurements can take 2-3 hours – sometimes more depending on the project. We measure everything as close as possible to ensure that when it’s time to install – all we are doing is setting the product in and it will be perfectly leveled and perfectly matching any other railing or design.
