Our client wanted an open concept space in a long narrow home that left original textures and details untouched. A brick wall was exposed as a walnut kitchen and industrial style floor-to-ceiling glazing were added. The enormous island and brass light fixture from Lindsey Adelman are key features. This midcentury modern house was transformed from a municipal garage into a private house in the late 1950’s by renowned modernist architect Paul Rudolph. At project start the house was in pristine condition, virtually untouched since it won a Record Houses award in 1960. We were tasked with bringing the house up to current energy efficiency standards and with reorganizing the house to accommodate the new owners’ more contemporary needs, while also respecting the noteworthy original design. A traditional Malibu Ranch house needed a complete remodel. “This house was left in a very bad condition when the new owners called me to remodel it. Abandoned for several years and untouched, it was the perfect canvas to start new and fresh!” The result is amazing, light bounces through the house, the large french doors gives an indoor-outdoor feeling and let the new inhabitants enjoy the view.

A cozy corner nook was created for client to relax and watch TV (wall mounted flat screen). Custom cabinetry including custom solution for hidden recycling bins was incorporated. 24' x 24' porcelain tiles give the space a more airy feel.

No surface was left untouched in this Lakeview Craftsman home. We've worked with these clients over the past few years on multiple phases of their home renovation. We fully renovated the first and second floor in 2016, the basement was gutted in 2017 and the exterior of the home received a much needed facelift in 2018, complete with siding, a new front porch, rooftop deck and landscaping to pull it all together. This was a whole home renovation where nothing was left untouched. We took out a few walls to create a gorgeous great room, custom designed millwork throughout, selected all new materials, finishes in all areas of the home. We also custom designed a few furniture pieces and procured all new furnishings, artwork, drapery and decor.
