The shallow entrance to the pool is a tanning ledge, and is a wonderful spot for lounging and a great play area for smaller children. The sitting areas along the edge of the pool, in addition to being great for lounging, enhances safety for children and less experienced swimmers in the pool.

Rollscreens paired with roll down storm shutters on a beach front application.
Retractable Screens, also known as Roll-up Screens and Vertical Rolling Screens are completely customized to meet the needs of the space.
Easy to see through and completely retractable, exterior Retractable Screens create a cool, comfortable, insect-free environment without sacrificing your view. Designed to provide superior solar protection, they mitigate UV damage, optimize comfort and provide daytime privacy even in windy settings.
Extra sun control can be achieved by increasing thread counts and weave density. Retractable Solar Shades provide energy-efficient sun shading, shelter against bugs and mosquitoes, climate control and rain/wind reduction while allowing outward visibility. Depending on screen fabric selection, our solar shade fabric selections are capable of blocking up to 95% of ultra-violet (UV) rays–saving up to 50% of the energy used to heat and cool homes.
Motorize Retractable Screens provide control at the touch of a button. Somfy Motors allow activation by wall mounted toggle switch or several different types of remote control options. These Retractable Screens will stop at upper and lower limits and are able to stop any where along the travel path on command.
Optional Manual Override features allow for operation in case of power outage for motorized units. Manual Operations are available on most models.
Motorized Retractable Screens equipped with Somfy RTS motors may be upgraded for use in Smart Homes and operated via Smartphone or other Mobile Devices.
Retractable Screens should be retracted when not in use. The screens are raised and housed inside the aluminum housing. All major components of the system are powder coated aluminum for durability, ease of operations, and longevity. All Retractable Screens from Shade & Shutter Systems come with a 5 year Warranty, to include the Somfy Motor.
Retractable Screens offer wind and rain abatement for breezy days. Many of our clients enjoy outdoor patio settings along coastal areas and beach front properties. Those areas also endure regular breezes that can be knocked down with retractable Screens for a more enjoyable experience. Although these screens are not designed for storm protection, winds to 40 mph are easily abated.

Nestled amid the mountain ridges of Colorado, the Gold Run Circle residence stands apart from other mountain homes due to its unique material palette including weathered steel panels fabricated by MetalTech-USA.
Installed by Pinnacle Mountain Homes of Breckenridge, Colorado, the majority of the home’s façade was clad with beetle kill spruce paired with weathered steel panels to achieve a modern, yet rustic look that both the designer and homeowner desired. The 5,800 square foot residence contains 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in 4,050 square feet of living space.
Bill Aldridge, owner of Aldridge Design Services, was tasked as the lead designer for the residence. In terms of the façade, Aldridge was to provide a design that allowed the home to blend in with nearby mountain residences while also portraying unique qualities. This was accomplished through the building form and use of materials.
The weathering steel was chosen not only for the intrinsic beauty provided in all seasons but also its durability in extreme climates. “I knew [the metal panels] could protect against the harsh climate that is the Colorado Mountains, without any need for maintenance or refinishing and the patina it’s receiving from the climate is only increasing its beauty,” says Aldridge.
Gold Run residence is clad in 900 square feet of MetalTech-USA’s 22 Gauge Weathering Steel Flatlock Panels. The 18”x24” Rectangular Flatlocks form a grid like pattern covering the facade of the office and along the base of the home.
“After researching many different options for the weathering steel façade on this project, we selected the Flatlock Tile from MetalTech-USA,” says Brian Broomall, Project Manager of Pinnacle Mountain Homes. “The concealed fastening system and custom sizing made for a façade that was easy to install and looks great.”
The unique feature of Gold Run Circle is the home office that extends from the house. With the grid of flatlock panels being offset by random sized and placed windows, Gold Run Circle transitions from a mountain home to a rustic contemporary getaway unlike no other.
“I honestly think metal can add such a unique feel and color to any project, and compliment any other material, with a uniqueness that can’t be matched,” says Aldridge. “In this project, the office could never have been pulled off with any other material.”

Our clients came to us looking to do some updates to their new condo unit primarily in the kitchen and living room. The couple has a lifelong love of Arts and Crafts and Modernism, and are the co-founders of PrairieMod, an online retailer that offers timeless modern lifestyle through American made, handcrafted, and exclusively designed products. So, having such a design savvy client was super exciting for us, especially since the couple had many unique pieces of pottery and furniture to provide inspiration for the design.
The condo is a large, sunny top floor unit, with a large open feel. The existing kitchen was a peninsula which housed the sink, and they wanted to change that out to an island, relocating the new sink there as well. This can sometimes be tricky with all the plumbing for the building potentially running up through one stack. After consulting with our contractor team, it was determined that our plan would likely work and after confirmation at demo, we pushed on.
The new kitchen is a simple L-shaped space, featuring several storage devices for trash, trays dividers and roll out shelving. To keep the budget in check, we used semi-custom cabinetry, but added custom details including a shiplap hood with white oak detail that plays off the oak “X” endcaps at the island, as well as some of the couple’s existing white oak furniture. We also mixed metals with gold hardware and plumbing and matte black lighting that plays well with the unique black herringbone backsplash and metal barstools. New weathered oak flooring throughout the unit provides a nice soft backdrop for all the updates. We wanted to take the cabinets to the ceiling to obtain as much storage as possible, but an angled soffit on two of the walls provided a bit of a challenge. We asked our carpenter to field modify a few of the wall cabinets where necessary and now the space is truly custom.
Part of the project also included a new fireplace design including a custom mantle that houses a built-in sound bar and a Panasonic Frame TV, that doubles as hanging artwork when not in use. The TV is mounted flush to the wall, and there are different finishes for the frame available. The TV can display works of art or family photos while not in use. We repeated the black herringbone tile for the fireplace surround here and installed bookshelves on either side for storage and media components.

Our favorite rustic look accented with turquoise and cobalt accents against a weather wood cabinet. The Mirror is a great combo of modern and rustic with a geometric pattern and and worn silver panted finish over a weathered white finish. The mirror itself feels vintage with some distressing and the size is generous.

Weathered Antique Flooring, Timbers, and a Weathered Antique Mantel bring warm reddish brown tones and rich texture into this rustic open kitchen and living space, layering reclaimed wood from the floor to the vaulted ceiling for a cohesive, lived-in feel. Each piece carries the same natural patina that only comes from decades of aging, tying the whole space together against the stone fireplace.
Sourced directly from a 19th or early 20th century barn, this Weathered Antique wood retains its unique sawn faces and naturally aged character even after more than a hundred years. At Manomin Resawn Timbers, every timber, plank, and mantel goes through a detailed process of denailing, kiln drying, and precision milling, preserving that antique charm while preparing the wood for a beautiful, functional place in a modern home.
Whether you are a homebuilder, a home remodeling contractor, or a homeowner looking to bring reclaimed wood flooring, timbers, or a mantel into your kitchen or living space, Manomin Resawn Timbers has been helping people discover the antique charm of reclaimed wood since 2002. Visit our showroom in Hugo, MN or reach out to us with a call or a message to get started.

This light-filled hallway at Sunset on St. Croix, a rustic modern luxury home, opens into a great room framed by weathered antique box beams overhead, with antique white oak flooring flowing throughout. Stone columns line the passage, while floor to ceiling black steel windows bring in natural light and views of the yard beyond. A live edge console, root ball sculpture, and plaster-finished fireplace with a woven pendant chandelier complete the space, where rustic texture meets modern architectural lines.
Our weathered antique box beams are milled from a mix of softwoods, ranging from hemlock to pine, salvaged from joists, roof boards, decking, and walls of late 19th and early 20th century structures. The natural patina from a century of weathering gives them a darker, moodier character. Our antique white oak flooring takes the light and bright aesthetic of the species further, with a subtle grey patina earned over years of natural weathering, milled from timberstock salvaged from 19th century industrial buildings and displaying the unique grain patterns and durability old growth oak is known for.
Whether you are a homebuilder, a home remodeling contractor, a homeowner, or a designer planning a space like this, Manomin Resawn Timbers has the reclaimed wood box beams and flooring to bring warmth and character to your home. Visit our showroom in Hugo, MN or reach out to us with a call or a message. 15152 Freeland Avenue North, Hugo MN 55038. Mon–Thu 8am–4:30pm, Fri 8am–4pm. 651.464.1771.

Reminiscent of softly weathered wood, Dura Supreme’s Weathered collection of finishes looks as if it has been exposed to years of sun, wind and rain. Like an old drift fence, tumbled driftwood, or seasoned barn planks; each of Dura Supreme’s Weathered finishes portrays wood that has been exposed to the elements.
Dura Supreme’s special finishing process raises the grain to expose swirls and patterns with a uniquely textured surface. The wood is then lightly distressed by hand to replicate age and wear. After staining, glaze is applied to highlight the grain and then lightly buffed on edges and around knots to reveal the stain color shown. Because each cut of wood is unique, every Weathered finish is a one-of-a-kind rendition that appears to have been aged and worn by time itself.
Dura Supreme’s Weathered finish collection includes an array of colors that evoke images of driftwood, dock planks or charred campfire wood. Choose from Dura Supreme’s four different wood species, each with their own charm and character marks. Select from any of Dura Supreme’s wood door styles to create a look that’s uniquely your own.
