With dreams of a modern master bathroom dancing in their heads, Thomas & Meghan hired us to help them with their remodel. They had a well-defined vision for their ideal space and aimed to incorporate their unique style. Their search for a reputable company with a dedication to quality work, clear communication, and transparency was met with great success upon collaborating with our team. The sliding mirror closet doors were removed and new shaker french doors were installed for their closet. Their dated vanity cabinets were replaced by Sollid Shaker Dove White Cabinets with Cambria Carrick Quartz Countertops. The modern and elegant vibe of the vanity section is elevated with the matte black accents of Jeffrey Alexander Boswell Cabinet Handles, Streamline Rounded Edge Wall Mirrors, and Delta Trinsic Widespread Faucets. They had a specific wishlist which consisted of a walk-in shower with tile that reaches the ceiling, featuring a wall that combines two different tiles, a distinctive wall niche, and a frameless glass enclosure. The combination of the free-standing tub, elongated niche, and matte black fixtures is a stunning centerpiece that immediately catches the eye.

The customers wanted their large Denver-area, Colorado home as a place to raise their big family, provide space for entertaining, and offer indoor-outdoor living. This craftsman style home addressed the views of the Front Range from all the major rooms. The main living spaces—living room, dining room, kitchen and media room, though each well-defined, all flowed together for a highly livable space that can be easily used for entertaining. Ample family living space for the children was provided, that could be used without interfering with entertaining. The exterior finishes—stone, stucco, and concrete roof tiles—reinforced the location and lifestyle of the home.

I worked with Realtor, Alon Seltzer, to stage this studio apartment and show how you can have a functional space with well defined areas that does not feel cluttered.

This spectacular space has views from all angles. I used elevational changes to create well defined entertaining spaces all while not disrupting any of the most important view points for my clients.

We had the cabinets professionally painted, replaced the countertops and added beautiful new hardware and an updated backsplash. The result is the space now feel well defined and intentional designed. We chose the gray to counteract/compliment the orange a bit, and specifically this backsplash as it had the gray, but also the little slubs of orange-brown in it which ties back into the floor. The result it a space that the homeowners now LOVE and didn't cost a lot to upgrade.

Considering the flashy nature and the innovative designs that rustic contemporary houses are sporting of late, it really is not easy to fabricate a home that can showcase a mountain rustic look with just the right touch of contemporary. Yet, this bold design, is really something ‘different' and the moment you lay your eyes on it, you cannot but help fall in love with its well-defined plan, sleek look, amazing use of natural stone and integration of BC fir and raw metal into the structure. This house is a direct design response to site, form and utility of building material, which combine to create a solid, robust structure. Disclosure of the stone work, expansive art glass windows and timber frame accents creates a visual impact. The front entry and facade is aligned with the midday sun. The long side of the triple garage act as a retaining wall. Inside this house, rooms slide into each other, dissolving the problem of further enclosure. The plan is unrestricted by the geometry and a sense of infinite space is achieved. Materials are reduced to a palette of metal, concrete, glass and timber, underpinning the desire for a rustic but still contemporary home to be basic and creating an embedded modesty.

When our client approached Decor Aid about redesigning her home in Montclair, New Jersey, the first space she wanted to tackle was the home office. As a businesswoman, our client desired the flexibility to work from home, and wanted to remain productive during the rest of the redesign process. But she also wanted to carve out a bit of space for herself within a busy household, and to have a space that felt reflective of her precise aesthetic. Our client’s well-defined sense of style is bright, fresh, preppy, and modern, which conflicted with the sensibility of her former home office. The entire space needed to be redesigned, starting with the dark, wooded walls. We re-lacquered the walls with a sky blue color, for a brighter, airier feel. Once the walls were finished, bold furniture pieces were added, to complement our client’s distinctive style. The pattern used for the custom window treatments matches the two chair pillows, both of which contrast against the solid colors elsewhere in the room. A tall mirror, with a chrome frame, gives the space a larger feel. We reupholstered the chairs with a contrast piping, and the side table was given a custom pink finish. But it was the fine details and final additions that transformed this home office into a truly individualized space. The Lulu DK Print on the wall, and a few pieces on the bookshelf, gave the space a more personalized feel.
