Inspiration for a coastal home design remodel in Orange County

An airy and light feeling inhabits this kitchen from the white walls to the white cabinets to the bamboo countertop and to the contemporary glass pendant lighting. Glass subway tile serves as the backsplash with an accent of organic leaf shaped glass tile over the cooktop. The island is a two part system that has one stationary piece closes to the window shown here and a movable piece running parallel to the dining room on the left. The movable piece may be moved around for different uses or a breakfast table can take its place instead. LED lighting is placed under the cabinets at the toe kick for a night light effect. The new design expanded the footprint of the home to 1,271 square feet for the first level and 1,156 for the new second level. A new entry with a quarter turn stair leads you into the original living space. The old guest bedroom that was once accessed through the dining room is now connected to the front living space by pocket doors. This wine wall started as a blank wall and is directly across from the dining room. My clients wanted a beautiful wine wall refrigerator to house all of the wine they collect. In order for the wine wall to recede we painted the surround the same color as the wall. The back of the wine wall refrigerator is a beautiful walnut finish that ties in with the color of the kitchen cabinetry. The hardware is streamlined and makes reaching for a bottle of your favorite Pino Noir a treat. The lighting is a soft beautiful glow to be enjoyed at any time of the day.
