Fast forward from having hired a negligent contractor in 2022 to renovate a 1950s ranch. One can imagine where our minds were at when we needed to hire a new builder and restart our process in 2024. We vetted many companies in the Atlanta area before we decided to work with Red Level. We ended up having to scrape the original house, expand our dug-out basement, and build a new house with a new foundation. We had a positive experience with Red Level and their vendors through this stressful time. Bill was our project manager, and he is a guy who cares about doing the job well. He always has a positive, can-do attitude towards the work. Dan, John, Bill, Lilly, and everyone else we communicated with, never left us hanging - they were always responsive in a timely manner and helped set realistic expectations for the project. For example, they were honest about the amount of time it would take to complete the house, which we really appreciated. They delivered on integrity and quality. Because of our bungled first attempt at building our house, this process took us 3 years from the purchase of our property to finally moving in - it was well worth the wait and the second start to have it built by Red Level! If we ever did this again, Red Level is the only company we can imagine working with.

Red Level finished our kitchen remodel one year ago. Let there be light! They transformed the way we entertain. Our family spreads out and cooks together, especially on holidays. Two caterers were thrilled at how much better the kitchen functions. Red Level opened up the kitchen, dining and family room in ways that we thought were structurally impossible in our 1950s ranch house, involving major support in the attic and basement. Dan and our site manager Bill were a pleasure, especially because they communicated frequently and were available by text for every question. They dealt with surprises and challenges in a reassuring and professional manner. Budget – check! Finish date – check! We tell our friends all about them.

We used Red Level for an extensive renovation of our historic home. They were great in guiding us through the project step by step and skillfully handling the few unexpected things that inevitably arise. Red Level completed our major home renovation -- we added a second story and porch and fully reconfigured the main level of our 1962 house. We had a great experience and recommend them highly. From the planning process to the build itself, Dan and John were easy to communicate with, transparent, and straightforward. Our project was completed ON TIME, and there were no surprises in the costs/budget. We are so pleased with the outcome -- our house looks amazing, and Red Level's work is outstanding. But we are also pleased that they helped make the process collaborative and positive. For the unexpected things that arose, they did a great job of explaining our options, evaluating the pros/cons, and being clear on all costs, so that we could make informed decisions. But there were few unexpected things because they were so thorough and comprehensive in the planning phase. Doing a major renovation is a very stressful experience, but having a relationship of trust with our builders helped ameliorate that stress. All of the subcontractors and carpenters who worked on our house were professional and trustworthy. Working with Red Level was a positive experience, with a great end result.

Red Level built a second-story addition to our 1917 bungalow, a major renovation that included gutting the first floor and completely remodeling the kitchen and bathroom. We used Red Level to do a second story addition and renovation to our house and were pleased with the result. They helped us navigate the historic district process with our architect. Dan and John were a pleasure to work with and helped us navigate the surprises and decisions that come along with renovating a 70+ year old house. Red Level was able to make things right and get us back on track after an unfortunate break-in and theft of our washer and dryer during construction that necessitated redoing the floors. We just finished our second story attic addition (conversion to bedrooms) and are not only happy with the product, we had a great time during the process. Dan and John are rock solid professionals from day one and through to completion of the project. During the planning process Dan was thorough, informative and relaxed. John is the project manager overseeing day to day operations. One of my favorite aspects of this project was how John would dive into any unexpected challenges that arose – he seemed excited to get his head around the entire problem and ultimately discover multiple, viable alternatives. You can tell he loves what he’s doing, same for Dan. The project has now closed and we are very satisfied with the result. One of the biggest requirements for any company doing renovation work is to be flexible and able to think on your feet – Red Level can do that. They are a great pleasure and we would definitely use them again.

Red Level has done a number of projects for us, incluidng rebuilding an old stand alone garage, building a back porch and most recently, rennovating a bathroom. They were exceptionally professional and competent, and we have been very happy with each of the projects they have done.

As a large, demanding design firm we have high expectations from any contracting firm we would be willing to refer our clients. Red Level is an exceptional construction company that we refer all of our in-town projects. They are extremely professional and fun to work with. We love working with Dan on the front end of the process, focusing on the scope of the job and detailing out the contract. John, always in the field, is the best and very detail oriented. After interviewing two full service design build firms, we chose Red Level Renovations because of their ability to meet our budget AND build a completely custom home. And quite simply, we chose Red Level Renovations because we liked Dan and John. It was interesting to watch a house built from the ground up - the process is not that complex but what is complex is the communication required. Red Level listened, they guided, they kept our marriage intact, they were true partners and they became friends. Two months after moving into our new home, I would do it all over again – they absolutely brought our dream house to life.

We hired Red Level Renovations (“Red Level”) to complete a major addition on our home and we could not be more pleased with both the process and the final product. We looked at a number of well-known high-end design and build firms in the Atlanta area and knew right away after meeting with Red Level that they would be our contractor. We had lived in a 2000 square foot historic craftsman home in Oakhurst (Decatur) for 12 years and wanted to add more space for our growing family. Red Level designed a beautiful second story addition for us that was in keeping with our neighborhood and craftsman style, and they were able to tackle the job on time and on budget. The project called for us to completely move out all of our furniture and belongings and relocate our family for seven months. Dan and John took control of the house during that period and we had absolute confidence that the job would be done right and that they would treat our home like their own. In fact, during the demolition of the old roof, a summer storm rolled in with strong wind and rain. Red Level’s framing and carpentry crew stayed at the house well after dark that evening ensuring that the tarps were secure, and only left after the winds and heavy rain had cleared out. We placed full confidence in the abilities of both Dan and John to guide the design and building processes, and we were completely at-ease even during some of the most challenging phases of the project. As one can imagine, a job that requires the roof to be removed from a 100-year-old house and then adding a second story can present quite a bit of challenges to work through. With Red Level though we knew that things would always be done right. Red Level’s communication during the 7-month project was exceptional. We would receive daily updates on the project and essentially immediate responses to any questions that we had about a specific detail. The ability to reach Dan or John at a moment’s notice was simply outstanding, and we believe was a cornerstone to the success of our project. The craftsman and sub-contractors that Red Level hires are second to none and you can tell that Red Level has been working with many of them for a very long time. We have been back in our home for 4 months now, and Red Level calls every month or so to simply check in or see if there is anything that needs to be taken care of since our move-in. Red Level is a company that prides themselves on delivering an exceptional product at a great value. We really could not imagine having worked with any other firm on our project, and we would absolutely hire Red Level again. It was simply a terrific experience.
