My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Woodenbox is a Design Build Philadelphia based company run by Kurt Schlenbaker. Kurt is a Philadelphia native, born and raised in Lancaster Pa. He has 20 years experience in the field of custom design build work, carpentry, metal fabrication, furniture, and renovations. Beautiful work is not only what Woodenbox is about but client relationships and unique design solutions for each and every project large or small. Kurt and his partner, Ashley Gehman, work side by side on design concepts. Ashley (previously designed for Anthropologie stores) is a furniture designer, interiors and remodeling designer and consults on finishes, paint, custom interiors and more. There has been nothing we don't get excited about.

Kurt Schlenbaker and his team built our house from the ground up, and we could not have been happier with their work. They worked with us closely every step of the way, and kept the project on time and within budget. Kurt offered exceptional advice on value engineering and had excellent design suggestions when we needed them. He worked well with our architect and all of the other design professionals involved, making it a truly collaborative effort. He and his team took genuine pride in their work and built us a beautiful, well-constructed home. If we ever build anything else, we would definitely hire Woodenbox again.

Kurt at Woodenbox was extremely professional and his crew did great clean work. He never left anything half done, and even came back to fix an install on my windows after some water damage was spotted. Apart from the contracting skills, he's got a keen design eye, and great feedback and solutions. Highly recommended, hard worker and great results.

Kurt Schlenbaker and his team are the best in the business. We have worked with them on many projects, from deep energy retrofit of an old warehouse to a new-construction passive house, and Kurt never disappoints. His attention to detail and craftsmanship, along with his clear communication and easiness to work with make him a go to design-builder for the projects we design.

Commented: Great potting sinkHi! This is custom made in place. Poured concrete top and sink. Not sure on dimensions as it was a custom piece built in place. But this is very easy to achieve and can be done by builder or homeowner...
