Between not being able to get a response to warranty issues to just overall Very poor craftsmanship I would never recommend TAB for any project. He also went way over on turning my house over by months with no explanation. His office girl is really nice and does a great job but TAB himself is a nightmare to work with. At least half of my HVAC registers and returns are crooked, you can see a lot of the joints in the trim work due to them not using puddy or caulk on them and they even put 6 inch baseboard in my bathrooms, realized that the cabinet drawers wouldn’t open so just notched the baseboard so it would which looks awful. My “screened in porch” has gaps an inch or more in size around the screens so bugs can still easily get in which is one of the issues he refuses to address. I have been involved in plenty of “custom homes” and TAB by far is not custom home service you would expect. A custom home builder should pay attention to and care about details for his customers and not turn over a home like this and then not care to address the issues. I wish I could post pictures of the issues. I had ten warranty issues after arguing with TAB for weeks I got half of them fixed and he now will not respond to the rest of the items. I am having to make complaints with the state and will be hiring someone else to fix the rest of these issues in order to get my house ready to rent.

We believe everyone deserves a space that will make them feel comfortable. Our goal is to help you create and design that space. We help by adding an extra layer of communication, which saves you time and helps you get your projects completed faster.
I had excellent results. The crawl space under my house was in very poor condition from previous work by another company. This was the first time I have had a repair man to give me before and after videos of the project. Mr. Yuille was very knowledgeable, professional and always very pleasant. He gave my son (Norris C. Wrenn, Jr. part owner) and me a step-by-step plan of what had to be done and how long it would take to complete the job. I have other major projects at my house that I am planning to hire this company to do. Mr. Yuille is my nephew, and he knows that I do not like sloppy work and that I am critical about how business is conducted as I have been in business as well. I would be happy to recommend this company and Mr. Yuille to my friends. Thank you for such a good job!

Patriot Pools of Virginia, LLCSwimming Pool Builders, Home BuildersWe build top quality custom inground swimming pools and spas.
Some sound advice; I had my pool built here in Virginia Beach in 2005 and did business with that same company for many years until they decided to close up shop. I have used several services since that time but have never been satisfied; it was either shoddy workmanship, poor customer support, and in one case, the company was so unprofessional and rude that I terminated my dealings with them on the spot. I started my search from scratch for a new pool service company and fortunately found Patriot Pools of Virginia. Jamie and Aaron have been a pleasure to work with. If you are looking for company that cares about its customer base, is punctual, does the job right the first time and has more than reasonable rates……………..look no further, “Patriot Pools of Virginia” is the company you want to do business with. I have used them on more than one occasion and they are consistently superior to their competitors.

Allen Loree Homes LLCDesign-Build Firms, Home BuildersTypical Job Cost: $80 - 175
Allen Loree Homes is a full service design and build firm. We build Dreams.
My wife and I selected Allen after meeting with a few builders because he seemed able to build a non-spec house and wasn't scared off by brick, geothermal, or energy efficiency. What we didn't do properly was thoroughly check references of CURRENT builds. I should have run when he couldn’t make it through city permitting after almost a year without me stepping in. In fact, if I had to summarize our experience as a whole, I would say don’t hire Allen unless you’re prepared to repair poor work yourself and advocate on your behalf because he won’t. The project was not estimated properly, material ordering was mismanaged, and Allen poorly managed his subs. Plumbing was horrible – we found multiple leaks after hours that would have cost thousands in damage if we didn’t walk back through after everyone left, not to mention the damage to vent pipes, the lines were never flushed before fixtures were put on leading to clogs, sinks were installed and left with active leaks, and he lacked in competence all around. Foundation and site work took months as opposed to days; so long in fact, neighbors and friends asked what was wrong. Framing of the whole house was done by 2 guys that didn’t show up repeatedly and Allen had no idea if and when they were working. Plumb, flush, and square? Forget about it. I hope you’re happy with shims, gaps, and framing with scrap boards. We had to repeatedly find our own trades to keep the project moving and paid some of them out of pocket because Allen "didn’t have the money". What was supposed to take 6 months took almost a year – not because of weather or supplier delays, but poor project management by a stretched too thin one-man show. Allen is nice and answered the phone, but he is not the guy that will make sure things are done on time and done right. He won’t advocate for you, he won’t demand his subcontractors show up, he has no backup plan, and in the end, you and your home will suffer for it. Maybe he was good years ago, but now he values his professional relationships more than his customers.

Charles Ross Homes are excellent. We gutted our master bathroom and they did a phenomenal job. From the first meeting at our home Tim and Keith came with a very professional proposal for our project. They gave great advice along the way. When we uncovered issues along the way they addressed them without increasing the cost. Even with weather delays they kept the project moving. Our bathroom is gorgeous and worth every penny.

I bought my EDC Homes townhome in 2023, and since day one it’s been a masterclass in how a builder can fail its homeowners at every level — workmanship, honesty, and ethics. Before I even closed the selling agent lied straight to my face, then played the victim when caught. I have the recordings and emails to prove it. When I confronted him, he threatened to go to the seller and have the deal canceled. That’s the level of “professionalism” representing EDC. My own realtor later posted glowing reviews of them even though he knew the nightmare I walked into. What Followed Was a Two-Year Circus Once the ink was dry, the problems began. Water leaked through ceilings, light fixtures, and even the alarm panel, destroying furniture and rugs. I had to blast them with a public Google review just to get anyone to show up. When they finally came, they didn’t repair — they staged a performance. They scribbled notes, made excuses, and disappeared. The promised storm door correction? I cleared my schedule, confirmed my availability, and no one ever showed. No call, no apology — just silence. They have perfected the art of the no-show and the stall. The Excuses Never End For two years, I’ve watched them crawl around my neighbors’ homes, inspecting and patching, over and over — all visible on my exterior cameras. Yet somehow, after all that, they still call my damage “wind-driven rain.” Please. Wind-driven rain doesn’t travel through ceiling fixtures or electrical wiring. It’s not weather. It’s bad construction. And this isn’t just me. All four homes in our row have leaks. Four out of four is not bad luck — it’s systemic failure and shoddy work that they refuse to own. Names have changed, faces have rotated — but the pattern stays the same: promise, delay, vanish. They shuffle staff and call it “a new point of contact.” What it really means is nobody wants to be responsible for the mess they built. I’m a disabled veteran who served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, and I’ve dealt with complex systems and high-stakes accountability my entire career. The lack of responsibility here is beyond unprofessional — it’s unethical. To watch a company that sells “integrity” run from its own record of negligence is infuriating. The Slogan vs. The Reality EDC Homes proudly claims “Built with Integrity.” In reality, they build facades that crumble, systems that fail, and excuses that never end. Integrity shouldn’t evaporate the moment the warranty clock runs out. The Bottom Line I still have every recording, email, photo, and video documenting this nightmare. I’m filing complaints with the Virginia Board for Contractors and the Attorney General, because homeowners shouldn’t be forced to pay out of pocket to repair a builder’s incompetence. If you’re thinking about buying an EDC home, take it from me — don’t. You’ll spend your time chasing people who no longer answer the phone while water seeps through your ceiling. They don’t build homes. They build regrets.
