“My wife and I inherited a very difficult design project. A 200-year old farmhouse with a 100-year old farmhouse tacked onto it. Both uninhabitable, but with lots of potential, on a piece of land that both of us intended to stay on for good. Loving things old, but feeling comfortable in the modern world, we wanted to rebuild in a way that preserved of the old structure and footprint what could be preserved, and to design and build what was new along the lines of a traditional farmhouse aesthetic. We also had a definite vision of how we lived, and planned to live, in and with the space. After meeting with several architects to discuss the project, Robin came out to the site to consult.
