Interior Designers & House Decorators Near Tulsa

For this family residence, we sought to craft a bespoke space that seamlessly combined functionality with timeless design. Given our client's love for entertaining, we created an open kitchen with a custom, oversized island - perfectly suited for hosting memorable gatherings. Builder: Sean Cox Photography: Kacey Gilpin

This 100+ year old home was in major need of some TLC. Every surface was brought back to life from the original hardwood floors to the plaster walls. The original plaster fireplace surround was given new life with handmade tiles laid out one by one to create a custom design that compliments with an Art Deco feel. The paint colors chosen were warm and inviting and the home also received custom draperies.

Custom furnishings such as the semi-circle sofa and ottoman were selected and built for our clients to elevate the modern Spanish Revival influence of their home. The fireplace surround was completely removed and hand-made tiles were selected to create a dramatic and eye-catching centerpiece to the room, complimenting the other textures and colors. The clients' family heirlooms and art pieces were incorporated to create a warm and inviting nostalgia to the home.

Custom shelving was designed to the flank the fireplace of our client's game room to house all of their most precious family heirlooms and an amazing collection of art and architecture books. Custom upholstered items were added to refresh the space and bring color and interest. The game room is now a beautiful retreat the clients enjoy using to relax or to hang out with their friends and family.

This midcentury modern gem was built in the 1950's in midtown Tulsa and features the original terrazzo floors, floor to ceiling windows and custom art glass on the curved fireplace. Our client tasked us with finding new furnishings, lighting and rugs to coexist with some of her existing furnishings and art. We brought in lots of color as our client loves color. We custom designed a Eames chair by Herman Miller for a reading nook in the corner of the large living space. We also reupholstered several pieces that were original to the home's build in the 1950's. Currently, a remodel of three bathrooms is underway and we have selected surfaces and finishes that speak to the home's unique midcentury modern design.

For this project, we focused on the clients' existing art collection and their love of color and mid-century modern design. The client had several original vintage pieces by Herman Miller that we recovered in lively patterns and textures for a look that was all their own. The dining table was purchased locally in Tulsa and is made from fallen trees found at Philbrook art museum. It was important to both the client and our firm that we work with local makers and incorporate sustainability wherever possible.

Working in traditional homes is such a delight because the history and patina of the spaces makes for such an inviting and comfortable backdrop to the new designs. For this project, we chose color drenching in a rich aubergine as a way to elevate the space and the client's family heirlooms and antique pieces. We designed custom draperies in the same color as the walls to complete our color drenched design.
