I had heard about the 60:30:10 rule but it was most helpful to have it explained in the context of individual rooms in my own home, along with advice on how to achieve a harmonious look throughout the house. The consultation is preceded by completing a detailed questionnaire which aims to help the customer set out a clear idea of the kind of look they are hoping to achieve. Based on this, Abigail brings swatches of fabric and paint to show how to put colours together in the right proportions to achieve the desired effect. Similarly, Abigail offers advice on the kinds of furniture that will work with the overall aesthetic. Even 1 year after the consultation the core principles of the consultation have stuck with me and stopped me from drifting away from my original vision.
