We wanted to work with an Interior Designer because we always feel overwhelmed by all the choices of products available and never feel confident about our decisions. Not being creative people we find it hard to reach the standard of design that we desire. The process was very interesting and productive. Holley and Laura addressed issues sensitively and without pressure. They were understanding about what we definitely did not want to change, but were able to nudge us into what felt like the more outrageous aspects of the project. We liked the way the process began with general ideas of colour and texture being covered before we had any idea of what the outcome might be. Laura has hawk eyes and her precision and vision of what will work was comforting and gave us confidence in her decisions. We loved not having to consider what we were doing at all. We had complete confidence in the work they were doing and were relieved to have the pressure of chasing things up removed from us. We are delighted with it all. It is completely different from anything we might have dreamed up. We have even less confidence in our own choices now though. We dare not even buy a blanket or a cushion without asking Laura in case we spoil the effect! We will definitely work with them again (when we have saved up)!

We approached Hitchcockspiers to design a large lounge in our new home. Holley and Laura were wonderful, they listened to our own ideas and came up with a design and colours we absolutely love. They took control of all aspects of the work, carpentry, flooring, paint and wallpaper colours, curtains and soft furnishings. They worked directly with our builder, which was great for us as we were remote from the build. They took us out of our comfort zone and designed a cosy, welcoming lounge. Holley and Laura were very professional and we wouldn't hesitate using them again or recommending them to others.

I left my project in the hands of Hitchcock and Spiers with the very sparse brief of “I want it to be classical, I don’t want anything too trendy or glitzy”. Well they absolutely nailed it, it’s modern but classical, colours I wouldn’t have dared use have been put together and form a beautiful scheme that matched the sparse brief and makes me so happy every single day. The details are all taken care of, you just need to let them create the magic.

From concept to completion, Hitchcock Spiers have provided a comprehensive design and installation service for our fully fitted bathroom, at all times sympathetic to our needs whilst providing expert guidance and advice. They maintained good communications with the chosen contractors throughout the installation phase to ensure effective progress, retaining responsibility throughout. The chosen contractors were of the highest standard. We are delighted with the final outcome.

Laura's has a naturally creative mind and with her eye for detail she made some significant changes to our architect plans that impacted our final build designs. I can't recommend Hitchcock Spiers enough. They took all of the stress out of our renovation / extension project and actually made it a really enjoyable experience! (I never thought I'd say that!) My husband and I approached HS as we were planning on a complete transformation of our new home. We had bought our home as a “project”, which required modernisation and better utilisation of the space. We also wanted to extend into the generous loft space to capitalise on the beautiful views from the top floor. As busy working professionals with young children, we knew we would need help to ensure the project ran smoothly. We would be investing heavily in our property, so were keen to avoid any mistakes being made along the way. We spoke with a few interior designers and I had worked with one on our last home, but none of them could offer the level of support and planning that we felt we needed to ensure the project would run as smoothly as possible. We chose HS because they support the process from pre-planning stages to conclusion and everything in between. HS began with a critique of our architect’s plans. They challenged us on how we use our home now and how our needs might change as the children grow older. They took the time to understand what we want from our home and how we spend our time together as a family and with friends. We are so glad that they did. Without their input, we would have made decisions that we would later come to regret. The budget planning aspect of the service also proved invaluable. Having the costs for the interiors and the build from the outset meant we always felt in control. For such a large-scale project, we stayed remarkably close to the budget agreed at the outset. During the design stage, HS provided us with a scheme for each of the 17 rooms of our property. These schemes were made up of reference images, mood boards, and 3D colour visuals, (which were particularly useful for my husband who by his own admission, struggles to visualise a space). They brought all the samples to us at home so we never even had to leave the house. They understood our style preferences perfectly. HS managed the implementation of the project for us. Because they are always one step ahead, the project has run on time and items have always been on site and ready for the builders at the point they have needed them. Where unexpected design changes were required, such as the opportunity to expose hidden beams or to remove a pillar in the kitchen, HS has been able to quickly adapt their drawings to allow us to move forward without delay. This has dramatically reduced the pressure on my husband and I throughout this transformation. HS has managed to understand our taste and style perfectly. They have given each room its own sense of identity, creating a home for us which feels cohesive throughout. The team has taken greater pride in the finish of rooms, and details around the house than we knew possible, which has hugely enhanced the quality of the final finish.
