“I was contacted by Steve Edick with Intelligent Design & Renovation after placing an inquiry on Houzz about renovating my downtown Auburn gameday loft. I desired to make it look more like a sleek Manhattan loft. This project included, in order of difficulty: built-in media center with mosaic tile wall; reconfigured bar/wall; new kitchen pantry; extensive bathroom remodel; reconfiguring kitchen cabinets; hall door reconfiguration; new lighting; moving electrical receptacles; installing new alarm system; rewiring; and miscellaneous hardwood flooring replacement. In addition, Steve would often make smart and practical suggestions that enhanced the final result, such as replacing the a/c vent grills in the ceiling with minimalist-inspired grills of understated elegance. One of Steve's strengths is an ability to think on his feet and make complicated calculations in his head, rapidly jotting figures down on paper, and then quickly giving you cost estimates, random measurements, etc. For someone like myself who is very detail-oriented, this particular skill was appreciated also. One last note: due to my being deaf, it helps if the person I'm working with is very patient and takes the time/makes the effort to communicate clearly … Steve is as patient, kind and friendly as they come.
