This morning I visited Lowes in search of a granite vanity top for a powder room. The only limiting factor in the powder room is a tan/white tile floor. I plan to paint the walls and the base of the existing vanity. He cautioned me and said that if I picked a custom top, the result might be quite different from the sample. He said often people order them and hate them when they come in. I don't want to spend a lot on this project. Am I better off going to a granite shop or should I just order a stock top like desert gold which I don't love but I'm sure I could be quite happy with.
