You don't need to match the two rooms' light fixtures very closely if you don't want to--I agree that something more rustic or industrial would look splendid in your dining room, whereas a crystal chandelier might not work as well even though it looks wonderful in your foyer! In fact, using different lighting can help visually differentiate rooms, especially in more open-plan homes where walls may not be available to serve as a visual guide. You do not have to match your lights, but stay in same theme. I love Restoration. Take a hint from their displays in stores. After all they use a designer to show off their wares.

By the way hang light 36" from top of table. The one you have is too high and too small. Think scale. RH has a sphere bronze chandelier it might be 36" you have a huge table chandelier must compliment it.

Do I see wall paper on samples. Do it. Wallpaper making a huge comeback.

But try a paper with more color. Your room lacks it.

I just looked at a RH catalogue...and they have some awesome lighting! I personally love rustic furnishings with a splash of "bling" on the lighting fixture. I would not choose ALL crystal, but a few accents would be nice! I don't think you need to worry about matching the foyer. That is a pretty "modern" shape for a chandelier, meaning it doesn't not have a traditional cast metal frame, so It can adapt and blend to many styles. LOVE the third picture that Maureen posted for you ...the 2 orbs are awesome!! It you feel they are too industrial (I don't!)....then RH has a few similar options that have a little bit if crystal embellishment. Pottery Barn had great lighting options as well. Don't be afraid to mix it up! Choose what you would want for that space, and don't worry about the foyer. They are 2 separate spaces, so you can treat them that way. there are no rules...go with what will make you happy to look at over dinner on that beautiful table!

Thank you every one. Your comments help a ton! The fixture hanging now came with the house I agree it's too high and a bit small. How wide of a fixture should I be looking into? I love the idea of adding bling to a more rustic table I'm just figuring out what I love vs what's in the budget. The table is 120" so I could do 2 fixtures like the orbs. I want to make the room feel more airy because of the heavy furniture. I'm also thinking about a somewhat of a colored, textured, damask wallpaper, possibly navy but I'm scared of making the room too dark.

And I love this idea but unfortunately its out of budget.

Try to go with a similar style, for the openness of the floor plan demands the flow be pleasant to the eye. I would also advise a fixture that hangs lower and is substantial because that dining table is large.

Do you think this would work if I got 2 and positioned them about 24" apart?

Love the lights where did you get them

I was wondering If my door is black should my front entrance chandelier be black then if I do that should all my fixtures be black. From my front entrance you can see my kitchen and I will have two lights hanging over my island as well and I have a chandelier over my dinning room table as well. I don't know what to do.
My front entrance is open and tall but narrow.
I'm so confused help.
My house is more of a country style.

Also I should add my kitchen is white dark Brown floors laminate and my island is going to be dark brown or black not sure yet.

I don't know if this question is closed. The family wants to have a grand crystal chandlier for our foyer. However, the decor I have in mind for the living room, which is just off the foyer is kind of Moroccan. I have been dreaming of these black chandliers with candle-like lights. Any way they could match?
