oh how much fun would it be to design a new sense of entry for this home.... I would really look at creating a sidewalk straight out to the street. a connection to the driveway is still needed, but would not be the main pedestrian access.... it would also be nice to have something that would create a more human scale to the front entry space.... just some quick thoughts, good luck ~ Glenn!

I'm with AMN, on this as I'v just done the same thing at a clients residence , but that was a Glass awning .

i googled it just for fun Sharon :) and added Pergola to the search. some of the ideas look wonderful to me!

We just finished completely changing the look of our house by adding a trellis that runs across the entire front of the house as well as putting up faux rock on the bottom half. The trellis also covers a new stoop and entrance. The rock we used is called Cre8stone.com. If you check it out you can see how they did it. Also have you considered a custom made fabric canopy perhaps in a dome shape like you would see at a luxury hotel, etc. I also agree with the former comment that a walkway out to the street would be really beautiful. The entrance of the house Emily sent is a wonderful look, in addition to that you might consider taking down those too small, disproportionate, shutters and replace them with millwork. I will attempt to send you a picture of what I did to my house.
